What a wonderful day spent at the Lincolnshire Makers Market at Stourton Woods. From the fellow stall holders to meeting new customers to catching up with familiar faces it was all a treat. The setting in the woods lent itself to my artwork and it was a pleasure from set up to pull down. Thank you to everyone that stopped to chat, purchase or order prints, thank you also to for wonderful organisation.

What a fantastic day at Countryside Lincs! I took a deep breath and demonstrated my soft pastel artwork in front of a crowd, and it turned out to be a fantastic conversation starter. It was strangely alright to have people observe my process and then chat with me about the animals, art techniques and materials. Meanwhile, my daughters Ruby and Winnie manned the stand and led an introducing pastel activity. It was wonderful to see the creativity from both young and old. To top it all off, I sold the first piece from my Nocturnal series - Tiny Perch! Thank you for a wonderful event, and thanks to Ruby, Winnie, and my lovely husband for all their help and support.

‘On Watch’ has sold-I woke up to a lovely surprise-the little red dot 🔴 has been added to my painting. It’s still such an incredible feeling that someone chose my painting to hang on their wall.

The majestic red stag. Not strictly nocturnal but crepuscular-most active during dusk and dawn. These incredible animals are one of only two native species, the other being the roe deer. They are the UKs largest land mammal and can survive for up to 20 years in the wild. Social creatures they prefer to live in herds, they are protected in the UK under the 1991 Deer Act. 🦌Thank you to .godinho for the wonderful reference photo.
