🎉 Happy Retirement, Karen! 🎉

Recently at Heath Lodge Care Centre , we came together to celebrate the retirement of our wonderful colleague Karen, who has been a valued member of the Heath Lodge family for many years.

Karen is loved by both our wonderful residents and staff alike. Her dedication, kindness and hard work in the laundry department have made a lasting difference and will be remembered by everyone at the home.

To mark this special occasion, our manager Mihaela, along with Monica, Prarthana and the wider team, organised a surprise retirement celebration. The home was beautifully decorated, a delicious cake was shared, and pizzas were enjoyed by all as we gathered to celebrate Karen’s incredible contribution.

It was a joyful occasion filled with laughter, appreciation and many fond memories shared together.

Karen, thank you for your commitment and all you have done over the years. You will be greatly missed by everyone at Heath Lodge.

We wish you a long, happy and well deserved retirement as you begin this exciting new chapter. 💐❤️

May was full of lovely moments across our homes, from getting outdoors in the sunshine to spending time together over tea and cake 💜

We celebrated World Baking Day with homemade treats, got moving for National Walking Month and loved taking part in Time for a Cuppa with Dementia UK , where simple chats over a brew turned into special moments ☕

We also marked Dementia Action Week, helping spark conversations and raise awareness, celebrated cultures and stories from around the world, and took time on International Nurses Day to thank the incredible nurses who care for our residents every day 🌍

And with the warmer weather finally arriving, National BBQ Week gave us the perfect excuse to enjoy good food and great company outdoors ☀️

Throwing it back to International Nurses Day on 12th May at Heath Lodge Care Centre , where our wonderful residents spent time making handmade cards for our wonderful nurses 💜

Residents enjoyed choosing the designs, cutting out decorations and adding their own creative touches to each card. There was lots of chatting, laughter and teamwork along the way as everyone got stuck into making something special together 😊

Recently at Heath Lodge Care Centre , our wonderful residents spent a lovely afternoon getting creative as they made handmade bouquets for our nurses to celebrate International Nurses Day 💐💜

There were lots of thoughtful touches added along the way, with residents carefully choosing flowers and colours before arranging their bouquets together. The room was full of chatting, laughter and shared ideas as everyone enjoyed making something special for our wonderful nurses 😊

Recently at Heath Lodge Care Centre , we took some time to celebrate our wonderful nurses for International Nurses Day 💜

Our lovely residents and team were so pleased to recognise the care, kindness and dedication our nurses show every single day. To say thank you, our manager Mihaela presented each nurse with a personalised gift and appreciation certificate as a small token of how much they are valued 😊

Heath Lodge Care Centre came together this week for our monthly residents’ meeting, with everyone gathering around the table for a good chat and catch up 💜

Our Home Manager Mihaela and Admin Sibel led the session, and it was lovely to hear from residents Jeanine, Vallarie, Michael Chase, Kathleen, Concepta and Dorothy as they shared their thoughts and joined in the conversation 😊

Moments like these are so important in our home, giving everyone a chance to be heard, stay connected, and shape day to day life together 🌷

We’ve been celebrating National Gardening Week at Heath Lodge Care Centre with a lovely indoor gardening session for our residents 🪴

There were plenty of smiles around the table as everyone enjoyed planting seeds, chatting together and getting their hands stuck into a bit of gardening 😊 It quickly became a favourite activity, with residents taking great pride in caring for their own plants.

It was so lovely seeing everyone relaxed, engaged and enjoying those simple moments together 💜

We had such a lovely bingo session at Heath Lodge Care Centre , with plenty of smiles all round 💜

Jeanine, Concepta, Kathleen, John, Vallarie, Carol, Patricia, RonaMary, Nigel and Sharon all joined in, and it quickly turned into a lively afternoon. There was that familiar buzz with each number called, a bit of friendly competition, and lots of laughter shared across the room ✨

Everyone was fully in the moment, marking their cards and cheering each other on. It is always so nice to see our residents encouraging one another and enjoying something together like this 💬

A big congratulations to John for today’s win, which was met with a lovely round of applause from everyone. Moments like these really do bring our home together 💜

This week at Heath Lodge Care Centre , our lovely residents enjoyed a truly lovely pampering session with our hairdresser Bernadette 💜

There was a really calm and relaxed feel in the room as everyone settled in for a gentle hair wash and a fresh haircut. Bernadette took such great care with each person, and there were plenty of easy chats and smiles throughout 💇‍♀️

Alongside this, residents also enjoyed a soothing manicure, which added that extra little touch of care and comfort. It was one of those sessions where everyone could just sit back, unwind and enjoy being looked after 💅

By the end, there was a real sense of feeling refreshed and uplifted all round, with lots of happy faces and a lovely atmosphere that stayed with us for the rest of the day!

It has been such a lovely, full week here at Heath Lodge Care Centre , with so many little moments that brought smiles all around 💜

We have spent time piecing together jigsaws, getting stuck into word searches and enjoying some relaxed colouring sessions. There has also been plenty of laughter during our gentle ball games, with everyone joining in at their own pace and cheering each other on 🧩🎨

Our garden walks have been a real highlight, giving our lovely residents the chance to enjoy the fresh air, take in the greenery and have those easy, unhurried chats along the way 🌿

We have also shared some calmer moments with sensory activities and doll therapy, which brought comfort, connection and a lovely sense of reassurance to those who enjoy them. It really has been a week full of togetherness and simple joys 💜
