🏳️‍🌈 Dare to be yourself. Dare to belong. Dare to make history.

It's Pride month and a chance to celebrate the stories, achievements and contributions of LGBTQ+ people throughout history - including many people whose lives and legacies are connected to Brooklands.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing the stories of remarkable trailblazers including Roberta Cowell, Joe Carstairs, Janet Gulland and others who challenged expectations, lived authentically and left their mark on history.

As part of Pride Month, we're also delighted to support the Royston Pike Lecture Series at 7:30pm on 17 June at Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre, Walton-on-Thames, where heritage consultant Sue Shave will present Q***r Heritage Trailblazers - an inspiring talk exploring LGBTQ+ figures who helped shape the world around us including many from Brooklands.

Because the story of Brooklands isn't just about speed and flight - it's about people. People who dared to think differently, live differently and change what was possible.

What makes time at Brooklands Museum so unique?

For many visitors, it’s the people who work and volunteer here - making every visit extra special.

The stories shared beside Concorde. The passion for motorsport and aviation. The warm welcome that makes a day here unforgettable.

Today is the start of National Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June), and we’re saying a big 'Thank you' and celebrating the 900 volunteers who help bring Brooklands Museum to life every single day. All week we’re running a series of videos that tell their stories.

Meet Alistair - he’s part of our aviation volunteer team - hear why Brooklands Museum means so much to him.

Time for some feel good vibes… 🤩

Some cars don’t just catch your eye. They become part of the evening.

This stunning 1959 Chevrolet Corvette, named Diane, was turning heads all night at Cool Flo last night. From her gleaming chrome and iconic red-and-white styling to that unmistakable V8 attitude, Diane seemed to draw people in wherever she stopped. Thanks to Rob Ert for bringing her along.

There was other magic too, last night. The atmosphere. The conversations. The photos. The warm summer evening outside the Clubhouse as enthusiasts, families and friends wandered between incredible vehicles and made memories together.

That’s the beauty of Cool Flo. You never quite know what will roll in next, but you know there’ll be something special waiting to be discovered.

If you missed this one, make sure you’re at one of our next Cool Flo Summer Cruise Nights - 2 July, 30 July and 27 August. There’s so much more to Brooklands Museum.

Cars like Diane aren’t just seen - they’re experienced. It’s a chilled vibe, everyone’s welcome.

What might your story be on your next visit to Brooklands Museum?
