All things Windmill at St Mary the Virgin in Wheatley! An exhibition of photographs and the Schools Art Competition celebrating 50 years of the founding of the Wheatley Windmill Preservation Society 1976 - 2026.

If you pop into the church over the next couple of weeks you can't fail to notice lots of pictures of Wheatley Windmill. These have been submitted by local children - over 90 of them took part in the competition! Here are some of the entries. Winning entries will be posted later. The exhibition runs from 1st to 14th June.

WHEATLEY WINDMILL 50 YEARS OF RESTORATION 1976 -2026

This year we are celebrating 50 years since the founding of the Wheatley Windmill Preservation Society Reg Charity 1079601. We have had a good response from local schools with regard to the art competition and the entries will be displayed in St Mary's Church from 1st - 14th June along with photos of the restoration of the windmill. Do come and take a look! The photo below shows the mini display in the window of the Language School on the High Street.

We are lucky to have a number of groups who provide entertainment at our open days. Thank you to Sandy's Choir who gave such an enjoyable performance last Sunday and got our 2026 open day season off to a grand start!
