Pleased to see two of my Random Acrylics selected for the '17th Annual Abstracts' virtual exhibition that runs throughout April courtesy of the Light, Space and Time online gallery based in the US. They received 660 entries from 31 countries so am well pleased to be recognised by the curators.

'Embellishment' with its golden highlights was selected for the 'Special Recognition Artists' section whilst 'Dissemination' made it into the 'Special Merit Artists'. Delighted with the comment in the attached preamble that "The gallery also included Special Merit awards and Special Recognition awards for outstanding art. Many of the artists in either of these groups could have easily been included in the upper tier of our winners, as their art was also exceptional".

These notes are attached together with screenshots from the website and a couple of my in-situ shots from the time I first posted them.

Pleased to reveal 'Juxtaposition' as the newest addition to the Random Acrylic collection. For someone renowned for his colourful and vibrant offerings, to paint one on the exhibition theme of simply 'black and white' was quite a challenge.

One white canvas was taped across in the middle to allow one half to be painted black so each side was contrasted/ compated against the other. A cardboard tube profiled with string was used to paint the inital white layer on the black half. Three tie wraps were scrunched together at random to provide the next effect before a bubble wrap bag was carefully applied to give the third effect. The techinques were repeated on the white half but with black paint.

Finally, each colour was folded into moulding paste and applied with a small spatula onto the relevant half to add a series of layers before the contrasting highlights were added to the peaks of these layers with a small spatula.

Details of this and my full stock, purchasing and pack and despatch can be found on:
