Good news — Juliet Klottrup: An Archive has been extended until Sunday 5 July.

There’s now more time to experience this thoughtful exhibition exploring Windermere through photography and painting from the perspective of award winning visual artist Juliet Klottrup.

Rooted in the community’s connection to Windermere, An Archive reflects on life by the water, the region's traditional boating culture and the many ways people continue to connect with England’s largest lake.

Drop into the Learning Centre at Windermere Jetty Museum for hands-on family fun, including our STEM Lab activities, designed to spark curiosity, imagination and learning through play.

Saturday 30 May is your final chance to have a go at the Make a Flying Fish activity.

Want to make a day of it? Our Fish Trail and Cargo Chaos game are available with museum admission.

We’re currently looking for local stall holders to be part of Festival of the Lake at Windermere Jetty Museum this June.

Festival of the Lake is a celebration of Windermere, its rich heritage, traditional boating culture and the many ways people continue to connect with England’s largest lake. Alongside the festival programme, we’d love to welcome a thoughtful mix of local makers, producers and small businesses with a connection to Windermere and the Lake District.

We’d particularly love to hear from:
🍴 Local food and drink producers
🎨 Artists and craftspeople
🛍️ Independent makers and lifestyle brands
👕 Clothing, gifts and handmade goods

Looking for a different way to experience Windermere during Festival of the Lake 2026?

Tarn Saunas will be joining us at Windermere Jetty Museum on Saturday 27 June with their beautifully crafted wood-fired sauna.

Rooted in the landscapes and wellbeing traditions of Cumbria, these lakeside sauna sessions offer festivalgoers the chance to slow down, reconnect and enjoy the views of England’s largest lake from a peaceful new perspective.

Public and private one-hour sessions will be available to pre-book, with limited drop-in availability on the day, subject to space.

There’s a lovely breeze down by the lake at Windermere Jetty Museum, with outdoor seating, heritage boat trips sailing throughout the afternoon and plenty of space to relax by the lake.

This is a great opportunity to join our team and play a key role in creating welcoming, memorable experiences for visitors across our museums.

You’ll lead front-of-house teams, support the day-to-day running of our venues, and help ensure every visit runs smoothly — from their first welcome to a fond farewell.

Based mainly at Windermere Jetty Museum, this part-time role is ideal for someone with experience in customer service or team leadership who enjoys working in a busy, people-focused environment.
