We are temporarily closed to improve our visitor experience. Work is underway to display new objects in our gallery and better share Windsor Guildhall’s royal and local significance with residents and visitors.

The works are part of an ongoing project funded by a recent £65K grant awarded to us by Arts Council England. The museum is expected to reopen in Spring 2026. We will keep you updated on our progress.

Are you looking for a unique gift for someone special in your life? How about sponsoring a museum object in their name?

For someone who loves pretty jewellery:

How about our sparking Bronze Age bracelet? (Image 1)

This bracelet was made between 1300BC- 1150BC of fine twisted gold, entwined with five gold rings. It was found on a site east of Windsor in 2009. It would have been a very valuable possession. Only three or four other examples have been found in southern England.

Or how about our precious Anglo-Saxon pendant? (Image 2)

This blue glass marbled bead pendant is suspended on a metal loop and is one of a group of items found during excavations of Wraysbury Farm.

Or maybe you know a dog lover?

How about sponsoring our Roman tile with a dog’s paw impression? Your special someone could have their own unique connection to a very good boy/girl from the Roman times! (Image 3)

This fragment of clay roof tile was found during an excavation of a Roman villa in Cox Green, Maidenhead. Soon after it was made, a dog walked over the clay before it had finished drying, capturing a moment in time forever.

Follow the link below to browse other objects that you can choose to sponsor as a Christmas gift. Prices vary from £25 - £100 with different benefits for each price point, ranging from a digital certificate to an invitation to a gala evening.
