Art by Rosamunde Wood

Art by Rosamunde Wood Artist based on the Buckinghamshire/Bedfordshire border working in a variety of mediums. Commission I have always been interested in drawing from an early age.

I started this page in 2010 as a way of combining my love of cats and my artistic talents. It was a natural progression to go to Art College, where I gained a BA Hons degree in Graphic Design. I worked at the Open University for 22 years initially as a Designer before moving into management. Having taken early retirement from the OU - this has enabled me to pick up my old paint brushes again - ha

ving painted nothing but the cottage for years. Originally I was working mainly in pastel for my animal portraits but took the opportunity to learn oils during the 2020 lockdown and also broadened my subject matter. So recently, I decided to rename this page as I'm painting far more than cats these days. It's great to be an artist again I'm really enjoying myself - I hope you enjoy my work, and maybe I'll see you at some of the craft shows that I regularly attend.

Last weekend I was at the NEC for The Cat Show Live these are the paintings I produced during the show . Both painted with Acrylics so they dried very quickly. I donated the Bagpuss painting to Hospices of Hope for them to fundraise in a future auction. I hope the many people who wanted to buy this from me will be bidding .

With a blank coloured canvas I was wondering what to paint next, when I met a lovely lady who showed me her beautiful white cat and asked if I could paint him - I explained I rarely take commissions but leave it with me as I was looking for a subject to fill the last hour or so of the show. .. And Romeo appeared from the paint.
