🌳Oak Apple Day marks the restoration of King Charles II to the throne in 1660 after years in exile, and celebrates the story of his escape following the English Civil War. At Moseley Old Hall, where the King once sought refuge, we are marking the occasion with family fun, crafts and fascinating history this May Half Term.
👑Take part in the 'Royal RSVP Rescue Trail' and help the Whitgreave family piece together a lost invitation to the King’s birthday celebrations. Running everyday until Sunday 31 May, 50p per participant with a sticker prize at the end.
🎨 Get crafty in the Cowshed on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 May by making a King Charles II push-up puppet - perfect for young historians and little makers alike. £1.50 per crafter.
📖 On Friday 29 May, discover the story behind Oak Apple Day and the Restoration in one of our volunteer-led pop-up history talks. Talks held at 11:30am, 12:30pm and 1:30pm, free with admission.
🍦After all that exploring, cool down with an ice cream or enjoy a tasty treat in the tearoom.
