https://www.tiktok.com/ Formed by historic military vehicle enthusiasts in 2014, the Essex Historic Military Vehicle Association (EHMVA or Essex HMVA),
Charity number: 1155705 was born from like minded individuals who wished to expand as a group while securing the future of our annual show "Echoes Of His

tory". The solution was to set up a charity to focus on and support its members and to better engage with the public and those with an interest in history and additionally provide a source of knowledge. Essex HMVA has a membership of hundreds covering much of the UK and parts of Europe and whose vehicles and collections include push bikes, jeeps, land rovers, lorries, artillery and tanks, in addition to military equipment and document collections. You do not have to be a vehicle owner to join, our non vehicle owning members have interestes in living history re enactment, militaria collecting and research. Members vehicles and displays are in demand for fetes, commemorative events, shows, living history displays and film work. The Charity also works with ex servicemen's organisations, local councils, civic societies and schools. Authenticity of vehicles and displays is a priority, as is ensuring events are interactive, educational and entertaining while creating an awareness of our heritage for younger generations. We also attend visits to schools to assist in education by reinforcing the concepts taught in key stage 2 of the National Schools History Curriculum. EssexHMVA produce a members magazine "Olive Drab" a mix of vehicle, military and history related articles in addition to regular newsletters. More recently we have added a You Tube channel to showcase members vehicles and other topics of interest. Member's vehicles have appeared in films, TV series and documentaries including Monuments Men, Danger UXB, The Dirty Dozen, Patton, Full Metal Jacket and Band of Brothers. In addition to taking part in shows and displays over the South of England every year, members have participated in the D Day Normandy Anniversary and VE Day commemoration events taking part in parades in England and France. EssexHMVA holds its annual show, "Echoes Of History" (echoesofhistoryshow.com) to showcase the Charity and its work, a family orientated event where visitors have the opportunity to see and interact with historic military vehicles from all nationalities and time periods, equipment displays, multi period displays with re-enactors, model displays, arena events and sometimes flying displays. The show attracts ex-military vehicles and re enactors from the UK and Europe. We also hold the winter gathering event for in the New Year, nicknamed the "Bum Freezer" and support or organise the Annual Armed Forces Day events in June. For more information on future events , see our website: www.essexhmva.co.uk

The Essex Historic Military Vehicle Association holds meetings on the last Thursday of every month at the Bell Public House, Woodham Ferrers, Essex CM3 8RG at 8pm. A Community Campaign to Save the Boreham T2 Hangar!

The Essex HMVA is proud to stand alongside local residents, councils, heritage supporters, and community groups in a united effort to save the historic Boreham T2 Hangar and surrounding wartime buildings from demolition.

Together, we’re working to protect this rare piece of our shared history and give it a new future as a museum and community space that everyone can benefit from.

Our volunteers and partners have been working tirelessly behind the scenes, but we need the wider community with us. Every voice strengthens the campaign.

We recently carried out a vehicle verification on a unusual 1941 Willys MB Slat Grill Jeep.
Owned by Mark for the past 13 years, this remarkable vehicle is now nearing the final stages of its restoration.
The Essex HMVA offers a vehicle verification service for vehicles that have not yet been registered or have lost their original registration number.
We look forward to seeing Mark and his vehicle out and about at our Essex HMVA events later this summer!
