There's plenty for children too, with walled gardens, a nature play area, and historic dress-up opportunities along the way.

As the heatwaves have passed and we move towards September, the Friends of the Worcestershire Yeomanry are looking for articles and photographs for the Autumn Pear Blossom. This very good newsletter comes out 4 times a year, Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.

We hope you are enjoying the Summer like these Australian soldiers (and their horses) ? We shall be looking at drafting the Autumn Pear Blossom shortly. If you have any articles or suggestions for the friends newsletter, please send them to [email protected]

Today in 1915 our brave Yeomen went on active service in Gallipoli. After training in Norfolk, and being based in Egypt since April 1915, the Worcestershire Yeomanry sailed to Sulva Bay and began a posting as Infantry! This venture was an unhappy one. Horses were left in Egypt, and they had to fit and learn to use Infantry equipment. Many still wore their spurs to ensure everyone knew who they were.
