Museum of Local Life

Directions

Museum of Local Life The Museum of Local Life reflected the history of Worcester and its people, until closed by Worcester City Council.

Until 2003 Worcester City Council operated a museum in Tudor House, Friar Street. Due to financial problems within the council, the museum service was compelled to make savings and it was felt closing this museum would be the best way to do this. Doubts about this decision, regarding the harm this would cause Worcester's heritage provision and the cost effectiveness, were raised at the time. Examining the development of the service since this point will indicate whether this was the correct course of action.
