Always love this bit.
After hours of prep-work, mostly hand sanding with increasingly fine grain sandpapers, it’s time to reveal the beautiful grain of the wood - in this case walnut.
It’s the second most satisfying part of making a timberharp.
Can you guess what the most satisfying bit is?

Love it when a customer conversation ends up with a whole new range of ideas.

Our Essential range of timberharps are made from all the bits left over from sustainable forestry. All the leaves, twigs, bark and roots are smushed into a very solid and reliable eco-material. It’s ultra smooth, extremely tough and perfect t for making timberharps!

Did you know tulip trees are a thing?
It’s true!
I found this one up at Sheffield Park.

They’re a member of the magnolia family, come from North America and have been used for dugout canoes for millennia due to their stability and strength.

They are grown sustainably for boat-building and furniture, and make really beautiful timber.

I will get my hands on some soon for a timberharp or two 💚🌳
