One of our many wonderful artists featured in this years Yate Art Open exhibition is Hannah.

For this artist, flowers offer a way to explore emotion, memory and the human experience. Through her own experience of grief, Hannah is drawn to the light, colour and quiet joy found in everyday moments. Her paintings reflect this balance of vulnerability and optimism, creating work that feels both personal and considered.

We met local artist Marian at the Yate Open preview event held on 1st September at Yate Heritage Centre, along with the subject of her painting, Evie.

Marian and Evie met at a "sip and paint" event at Costa Coffee back in the spring. Marian took a photo of Evie at the event and sometime after, painted the portrait. It was only several months later that Marian found and connected with Evie via the powers of social media.

Marian invited Evie along to the artist preview event at Yate Heritage Centre to see the painting and we were delighted to hear their story of how they came to meet through the magic of art!
