With respect, join to celebrate Carter Godwin Woodson (December 19, 1875 – April 3, 1950). He was an American historian, author, journalist, and the founder of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH). He was one of the first scholars to study the history of the African diaspora, including African-American history. He is known to be the man behind the Black History Month. For me, he taught me a lot with his book “Miseducation of the Negro”. That is where l learnt how the African-American was as ‘miseducated’ about himself and Africa just as the African on the continent is as “miseducated’ about himself and about the African-American. We need to be humble to know about ourselves !
