Meet the artist:

👉 Irene Lefterioti was born in 2001 and is a graduate of Camberwell College of Art at the University of the Arts London. In her works, she primarily uses acrylics, creating figurative forms combined with abstract elements.
Her style is a personal expression of the evolving human condition, incorporating feminist and q***r elements with references to internet and pop culture. Her works address contemporary philosophical concepts and cultural criticism, while experimenting with psychoanalytic studies of the subconscious.🔺🔺

"That's gender" by Irene Leftherioti Eirini 'Flevaris' Leftherioti

Irene Leftherioti draws on the aesthetics of popular and internet culture to express her personal experiences and emotions. She recognizes parts of herself in movies, TV series, video games, memes, phrases, and lyrics. More specifically, she explores gender identity and the gendered experience, sexuality, and contemporary socialization/community building.

Drawing on references to important films from the LGBTQ community and beyond, she explores themes of play and liberation, the irrelevance of gender, and even the lack of awareness of the concept of gender during preadolescence. By combining images from films and internet pop culture, she explores the experience of q***rness, as well as sexuality itself.
She hopes that, through her largely personal practice, she can create a space for identification, ultimately giving voice to more collective feelings and experiences.

Η σεζόν 2025-2026 έφτασε στο τέλος της, ολοκληρώνοντας έναν κύκλο δημιουργικών εκθέσεων. Ευχαριστώ τους καλλιτέχνες μου για την εμπιστοσύνη τους και τους φίλους της γκαλερί για την αγάπη και προτίμησή τους.
