UPDATE: Illustrating The Hobbit Part II | Calendar 2027

Today, I visited my printing partners to scan the new illustrations and begin preparing the layouts for the second volume of Illustrating The Hobbit. Twelve drawings, countless hours with pencil and paper, and one journey approaching its final chapter.
The artwork is taking its next step toward becoming a collectible calendar, created to mark the 90th anniversary of The Hobbit.
The journey continues.

A NEW COLLABORATION

Art meets craft. Vision takes form.

I’m pleased to announce a new collaboration between Spiros Gelekas Art and 3D REIGN, exploring new ways to bring selected original artworks into three-dimensional form.

My paintings have always been about more than the image itself. They are places, memories and worlds shaped through paint, texture, light and imagination.

Together with 3D Reign, we are beginning to explore how some of these worlds can move beyond the canvas and become tangible objects, while remaining faithful to the spirit of the original artwork.

This is the beginning of a process. The first creations are now taking shape, and more will be revealed as the work progresses.

Not simply a new form, but another way to experience the art.

A small update regarding the 2027 Calendar.

The past few weeks have brought several commitments that needed my attention, and some things have had to be rearranged. As a result, the calendar will take a little longer to complete than I originally planned.

It hasn’t been forgotten, nor has it been put aside. I’m working on it, and I want to bring it to life as I originally envisioned it, rather than rush it just to meet a deadline.

Thank you to everyone who has been asking about it and patiently waiting for news. I’ll share more details as soon as I have a clearer timeline.

The journey continues.

BACK IN THE STUDIO!

The season is over, I’m back at my studio, and it’s time to pick up the brushes again.

Somewhere between exhibitions, commissions, and everything else, I’ve just reached artwork No. 1,300!

Around eleven years, 1,300 artworks, countless hours of work, and one small question: when exactly am I supposed to rest?

On to the next ones!

P.S. Picasso, don’t worry. I’m not coming for you. Yet.

Some things take time to take shape.

Over the past months, new ideas have been developing quietly behind the scenes. New collaborations, new ways of presenting my work, and projects that will open a different chapter in my artistic journey.

Some of these announcements were planned for later. A few things, however, are now moving sooner than expected.

I’ll be sharing more when the time is right.

For now, let the silence do its work.

Many worlds. One vision.

This artwork brings together elements from several of my original paintings, reimagined and combined into a single fantasy landscape created especially for the work of author Πολυδεύκης Ανδριαννός - Συγγραφέας and his podcast, “Fairy Tales and Stories from Europe, Greece and the World.”

Existing landscapes, floating islands, waterfalls, ancient trees and dreamlike skies come together in a new composition, allowing familiar elements from my artistic world to meet and form something entirely new.

A different way of revisiting my own work and not simply by combining images, but by creating a new journey through places that have already lived on my canvases.

Sometimes, worlds that were painted separately are meant to meet.

And then came an unexpected surprise.
I arrived at the 3D REIGN booth at the FANTASY FESTIVAL 2K26 in Athens and discovered that they had made these beautiful stone coasters featuring the Art of Middle-Earth Gallery logo. I honestly wasn't expecting anything like this. It's these little gestures that stay with you. Not because of the object itself, but because someone took the time to create something with your work and your gallery in mind.
Thank you, 3D Reign. It genuinely meant a lot.
