Petr Shevchenko’s sculptures exist in a state of
transformation, where bodily, architectural, and natural references overlap and evolve.
Suspended between emergence and dissolution, they challenge the boundaries between object, organism, and idea.

Some Places Are Sacred
148 × 188 cm

Inspired by the island of Mykonos, this work explores the energy that exists beneath its familiar image of celebration and nightlife. Figures in red heels move across the surface, their presence evoking the rhythm and spirit of dancers, while geometric lines trace an invisible architecture a secret energy shaped by centuries of history, ancient culture and the island’s enduring mystique.

Beyond the party, beyond the present moment, there is something older, something that cannot quite be explained. An energy that has been felt, transformed and carried through time.

Some places are more than destinations. They hold memories, rituals and a spirit of their own.

Some places are sacred.

Intention Empowered Thought
157 × 190 cm
Acrylic, resin on canvas

In Petr Shevchenko’s work, forms emerge and
dissolve before they can be fully defined. Through
layers of colour, texture, and repetition, the painting
becomes a space where perception remains fluid
and interpretation continuously evolves.

Rather than offering fixed narratives, the work
invites sustained looking rewarding attention with
new associations, connections, and possibilities.

Domus Art Gallery and Okupa present Liminality, a solo exhibition by Petr Shevchenko.

Working across painting and sculpture, Shevchenko explores the space between recognition and ambiguity. His practice investigates transformation as both a visual and metaphysical process, creating forms that feel simultaneously familiar and unknown. Through repetition, symmetry, and material experimentation, his works invite viewers into a state of continuous discovery.
