So this brings us to a close, however the closure of this page does not mean the end, we have just celebrated our 50th year in the town with the launch of our 50 year exhibition, which is free of charge to view at the museum and we intend to continue going as long as the community show an interest and support us. With this in mind, in order to continue to progress it has become necessary that we open a new page.

This will allow us to provide more integration with other social medias and deliver more informative articles that showcase Arklow’s broad historical significance to the countries development.

We hope you will follow us over to the new page as we start off our next 50 years in the town.

Our 50th birthday is upon us 🥳

In honour of our 50th birthday, the Arklow Heritage Museum is hosting an exhibition showcasing some of the best pieces in our collection, with some never-before-seen items, all curated to show our journey over the last 50 years.

The exhibition will be open to the public from the 15th of February and is free of charge, although we hope you will support us for the next fifty years by joining us for a tour of the main museum or making a donation if you are able.

We hope all will be able to join us at some point during the duration of the exhibition.

Tis the season of gifts and the museum has quite the smattering of goodies for the history and maritime enjoyers. Pop in and see our lovely selection of books, post cards, clocks and plates among others and we're sure you'll find something to be jolly for.
The museum is open from 10. am to 5. pm 7 days a week.

New stock alert!!!! Michael Fortunes new book The Folklore of Wexford Volume 2 is now in stock here at the Museum. We also have restocked the first volume as well which was a big hit when it first released.
The books are €15 each and they will make great gifts over the holiday period, but hurry these books are selling like hotcakes and we have a limited stock so get yours today.

This will coincide with our launch of celebration of our 50th anniversary exhibition. We intend on posting more content, more often and through the use of other integrated social media, the new page affords us this chance.

After 15th of February 2026 we will no longer be posting on this page, but it will remain as an archive to our previous content.
