Peter O’Keeffe 20 years today.!!!

Twenty years ago today Peter lost his life at Owenahincha while saving the lives of two strangers.

He saw two people in trouble, picked up a lifebuoy and went to help. He and Jonathan Herlihy got them safely back to shore, but never made it back themselves.

Peter was later awarded the State’s highest honour for bravery. But perhaps the best description of him was given at his funeral:

“Quiet and unassuming… one of the funniest, joyous and most caring people you could know.”

Twenty years gone.
Still loved. Still missed.
Still our hero. ❤️

Peter — a beautiful man.
Missed by all.

Today we were in Baltimore and walked to the Baltimore Beacon! 😊
Tomorrow we’re going to make cheese!
But we’re also already looking forward to the Berlin summer!

To say she got as big a shock as getting into the Worlds A Final is an understatement. Thanks so so much to all who turned out to see our little champ. :)

Could not be prouder or more emotional!!! 7.13.77 in the worlds finals. 10 seconds faster the the heats. Well in touch for the whole race. Delighted!!!
