To celebrate Mayo Day and 75 years since the filming of The Quiet Man there is a free guided tour of The Quiet Man of The Quiet Man film locations today at 2pm. The Quiet Man really put Mayo’s little gem of a village firmly in the spotlight when filming started in Cong 75 years ago….and fans are still visiting 75 years later - truly a movie that has stood the test of time! The Quiet Man Museum & Tours are celebrating Mayo Day with a free guided tour of The Quiet Man film locations at 2pm on 2nd May. Spread the word to fans near and far - we look forward to welcoming you to Cong and The Quiet Man Country, a magical piece of Mayo often described by our visitors as “picture postcard”.

John Wayne had some competition today when Filippo from Italy brought Woody, the Cowboy from Toy Story, to breakfast at Michaeleen’s Manor B&B. ‘Get off your horse and drink your milk’ Woody as Duke would say! Or maybe it’s more a case of ‘This town ain’t big enough for the two of us’ as Woody would say! Thanks to Filippo and his parents who live in Dublin for permission to use this lovely photo 🙏 ❤️
