Look at the red dot for about 30 seconds without moving your eyes. Keep your focus steady.

Then quickly blink or look at a blank white surface.

You’ll see a “real” image appear—but it’s actually your eyes playing tricks on you.

This is called a negative afterimage. When you stare at a strong colour (like red), the colour receptors in your eyes get temporarily “fatigued.” When you then look away, your brain compensates by showing the opposite colours, creating a ghost-like image that looks real for a few seconds.
