Designed for the Shirley family by the historian Thomas Rickman (his only Irish commission), Lough Fea is unusal in that it resembles an Oxbridge college more than a Victorian castle with a solid parapet concealing the roof instead of the more tradtional of the time battlements.

Worldwide Knit and Crochet in Public Day 2026 🧶✨

What a phenomenal turnout! 💛

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who stepped out of their crafting corners to celebrate World Knit and Crochet in Public Day with us and helped make this event such a success. Seeing over 60 crafters filling the Monaghan Peace Campus with laughter, vibrant yarn, and the rhythmic clicking of needles was pure magic. 🧵🪡☕

From sharing patterns and dropping stitches to laughing over coffee, it was the perfect reminder of how a shared passion can weave a community together. 🤝💬🧣

Thank you for making this craft visible, accessible, and so much fun.

A huge thank you to our colleagues in Monaghan Town Library for partnering with us on this event 🌈🫶
