A vibrant and emotional musical journey that brings together the passion of tango, the elegance of classical music, and the freedom of contemporary expression.

Cellist Adrian Mantu, accordionist Dermot Dunne, and violinist Sebastian Tegzesiu join forces in It Takes Three to Tango — a dynamic trio that transcends genres and borders. Their program celebrates the dialogue between tradition and innovation through works by George Enescu, Constantin Dimitrescu, Ciprian Porumbescu, Niccolò Paganini, Astor Piazzolla, Turlough O’Carolan, Ina Boyle, Saint-Saëns, and Ennio Morricone.

Each piece reveals a different facet of musical storytelling — from the fiery rhythms of tango to the lyrical intimacy of chamber music — offering audiences an evening filled with virtuosity, emotion, and unexpected connections.

Adrian Mantu – Cello

Founding cellist of the ConTempo Quartet, Adrian Mantu is one of Ireland’s most active and respected performers and artistic leaders. Born in Romania and based in Galway, he has toured over 2,000 concerts worldwide, appearing on prestigious stages from Wigmore Hall to the Berliner Philharmonie. As an educator and cultural ambassador, he is dedicated to building bridges between communities through music, while his performances combine expressive depth with refined technical mastery.

Dermot Dunne – Accordion

Dermot Dunne is widely recognized as one of Ireland’s foremost accordionists, celebrated for his versatility and charismatic stage presence. His repertoire spans from classical transcriptions and contemporary compositions to traditional and world music collaborations. A frequent soloist with leading Irish orchestras and chamber ensembles, Dermot brings to every performance a rare mix of virtuosity, warmth, and spontaneity that captivates audiences.

Sebastian Tegzesiu – Violin

Romanian violinist Sebastian Tegzesiu is a distinguished performer and cultural leader, currently serving as the Manager of the Brașov Philharmonic. He is also the concertmaster of the same institution, having built a rich artistic career through solo, chamber, and orchestral projects across Europe. His playing is marked by expressive depth, elegance, and precision — qualities that reflect both his dedication to excellence and his commitment to fostering the cultural life of his community in Brașov.

King House Cruinniú na nÓg
Museum of Believing Workshop

Date: Saturday 6th June 2026
Time: 10 noon to 12 noon
Ticket: FREE Drop-In Event / no pre-booking required

Museum of Believing is an interactive workshop for children ages 5-12 blending archeology and storytelling. Participants have the opportunity to excavate, clean and examine small objects using real archeological tools and equipment, as well as to imagine what their object is, who it could have belonged to, and what makes it valuable. Finally, they will place their object and its descriptive card into the Museum and have a chance to see the objects and stories discovered and created by others. We are encouraging young people to see objects as stories, and history as a fertile landscape for curiosity and creativity.

Creative producer Heather Rose and experienced theatre-maker and facilitator Miriam Needham act as ‘curators’ at the Museum of Believing. We will offer prompts and help the children as needed, whether that’s selecting their object, offering questions to help them imagine what it could be, or finding the perfect home for it in the Museum.

Rose Producing creates high quality arts experiences with and for young people, with a particular focus on special audiences such as small rural schools and children with additional needs.

This activity will be open on a rolling basis from 10-12pm so children will stay for as little or as long as is needed during that time.

Vinyl Design is a hands-on visual arts workshop where young people transform recycled vinyl records into bold, original artworks inspired by music, identity, and self-expression. Participants will explore colour, composition, and mixed media techniques while designing a circular artwork that reflects their personality or favourite music style.

Attendees will also design an album cover for their chosen musician/band. A group idea-sharing discussion encourages creative input, and a short showcase at the end allows participants to present their work. As part of Cruinniú na nÓg, this event celebrates youth voice and contemporary creativity in Roscommon through a Graphic Design project suitable expanding creative knowledge and for portfolio inclusion.
