Almost 60 years ago, when I was 17, I received from my mother an opener which she had received from a friend in Israel. In the beginning my collection grew very slowly and when I left Holland at the age of 24 to emigrate to Israel I came with a collection of about 30 openers. But here in Israel things were different for my collection as people from Israel travel all over the world and also people from many countries come to visit Israel and I "remind" them about my collection and at this moment I have close to 6000 openers from 119 different countries. From all these openers only one was bought by me and all the rest I received from family, friends and visitors coming to the museum.
