More than just a place, Kutch has become a second home for .vivek. Through his lens, he captures not only the landscapes but the lives, emotions, and unspoken stories of its people.

This exhibition is a reflection of his journey of bonds built over time, of trust, of belonging. His connection with the people of Kutch goes beyond photography, it is deeply personal, raw, and beautifully human.

You are warmly invited to experience a soulful photography exhibition by Vivek Desai .vivek

Mapping Cultures by Elizabeth Simpson, an exhibition of very poignant work that open yesterday.

Mrs. Victoria Singh, Founder Member of Kota Heritage Society welcomed everyone. The Chief Guest, Mrs. Archana Shah, shared her views on the importance of this work with regard to ethnographic studies from times gone by. In her words, the exhibition goes beyond nostalgia and is about documenting communities with far deeper connections than the simple act of photography may warrant. Mr. Madan Meena, a renowned research scholar on Textile and Textile Printing spoke about his more than decade long association with Elizabeth.

The opening was attended by the President of Gujarat Craft Council, Mrs. Shilpa Patel and the members of the council.

We thank all guests and friends who honoured us with their presence.

The exhibition remains open to all from 12 pm to 9 pm until 25th January 2026 (all days) at Satya Art Gallery.

Mapping Cultures
Photo Exhibition by Elizabeth Simson

Elizabeth Simson was born on April 7th 1931 and grew up in England and France. She had many connections with India and her grandfather, Charles, had been a partner in Simson Bros. & Co. Coconada (Kakinada Andhra Pradesh) rice merchants and jute mill owners
Elizabeth studied art and lectured in fine art at Bath Academy of Art in Wiltshire in England in the fifties and sixties. She was fascinated by India and first drove there, overland, in 1963 with a group of friends and again in 1971. On her third trip in the late seventies, when wanting to study the rich heritage of turbans, she was referred to the Indian musicologist and Director of the Rupayan Sansthan Folk Museum, Kumul Kothari. The museum was in Borunda near Jodphur. She got to know many people in the village and returned there every year for the next 35 years. She remains particularly grateful for the hospitality of Rupayan Sansthan and Inder Dan and his family.
This exhibition is dedicated to the people of Rajasthan and Gujarat, particularly to those in Borunda, Kota and Kutchh who welcomed Elizabeth and shared their lives with her. She passed away last year, age 94 years.

The opening marked the beginning of a powerful visual narrative that reflects the lives, traditions, and cultural.Through a sensitive documentary approach, Arya’s photographs move beyond representation to reveal intimate narratives shaped by history, identity, and everyday life.
