My name is Mia and I have been involved with Hampi Children's Trust since 2007. Very recently there has been a lot of destruction that has occurred in this special place resulting in more then 150 families losing their shops and becoming homeless. I have been asked by a good local friend of mine to create this page to raise awareness and try & preserve what is left of Hampi. I kindly ask you to in
vite your friends and share this page with as many people as humanly possible! A special THANKS goes out to all the lovely people that have contributed to this page in all ways possible. xx Mia Love xx

After Hampi's bazaar demolition, i've been thinking about all the archeological sites around the world and all the people that used to live there before the sites become Unesco World Heritage (Petra in Jordan where only the ex-living community manages its business right outside the entrance of Petra, Sri Lanka in places like Darambula caves or Polonnaruwa etc.., Mexico a very large aerea, Peru, Cambodia, Pompei in Italy ... there are so many places in the world). Well, unfortunately hystory repeats itself ... goverments are so attracted by money offered by Unesco, therefore they don't care to dismantle as soon as possible all public houses. Sooner they dismantle, sooner they get money ...
One more reason to fight in order to defend citizen rights !!! LET'S CONTINUE TO REPORT ABUSES AND LET'S FIND A WAY TO LET THEM UNDERSTAND HOW IMPORTANT IS TO KEEP A LIVING, OPEN-AIR AND WELL MAINTAINED ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM.
