LEARNING THROUGH MAKING

Artist Presentation & Creative Workshop with Shubhankar Chandere

Dhi Contemporary, in collaboration with the College of Fine Arts, JNAFAU, Hyderabad, invites you to an engaging day of learning, conversation, and making with artist Shubhankar Chandere.

A hands-on collage and painting workshop where participants will experiment with cut-outs, images, colour, and composition to develop their own visual stories. The session will explore how forms can become characters and how their placement within a space can transform meaning and narrative.

Shubhankar will present his artistic journey and practice through a visual slide presentation, followed by a conversation around his engagement with labour, memory, the body, nature, social structures, and everyday life.

Three days into Srinivas Bobbili: A Biography of the Everyday, the works continue to bring us back to the world Srinivas so closely observed—the people, places, gestures, and fleeting moments that made up his every day.

If you haven't visited yet, we invite you to spend some time with this wonderful body of work at Dhi Artspace.

More than a tribute, this exhibition is also an opportunity to support the legacy of an artist who was an integral part of the Dhi family. The sale of works from the exhibition contributes towards a fundraiser in his memory.

Revised dates for 'LEARNING FROM THE GROUND'

How do communities remember, transmit, and regenerate knowledge?

Knowledge does not exist only in books, archives, or institutions. It is carried through bodies, cultivated through labour, embedded in materials, and passed across generations. It lives in the ways we work, make, care, adapt, and remain connected to the land.

Dhi Contemporary presents Learning from the Ground—an exhibition that reflects on how knowledge is sustained and transformed through everyday practices in the face of ecological, social, and political change.

From what grows beneath our feet to what is carried across generations, the exhibition invites us to look closely at the relationships between land, labour, memory, material, and community.
