The Dooars Sanskritik Samaroh '26, organized by the Dooars Folk and Tribal Arts Museum, was a vibrant celebration held on December 31, 2025, and 1January, 2026.
The festival was gracefully inaugurated by Dr. Om Prakash Bharti, the visionary founder of the Himalaya World Museum. Adding prestige to the occasion were distinguished guests: Dr. Hemant Chatterjee (Member Secretary, West Bengal MDD Academy, Government of West Bengal), Prof. Rupam Sarkar, and the renowned mime maestro Sabyasachi Dutt.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of the prestigious Dooars Mitra Samman 2026 to Shri Biswajeet Saha, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the preservation of nature and culture.
Approximately 250 artists participated in the festival, featuring performances by the Kathi Nach team from Bolpur, led by Abhishek Dutta; an Odissi Nritya presentation by Debdutta Lahiri and her disciples; and vibrant contributions from local artists representing the Kurmi, Oraon, Santhal, and Rajbanshi communities.
