Dismantling Aesthetics of Inhibition: Representing Difference.
Exhibition curated by Prof Y, S, Alone, School of Arts and Aesthetics, JNU New Delhi
“Ambedkarian Aesthetics” is a world free from prejudices, inhibitions, and metanarrative of Brahmanic modernity, and cultural nationalism thus subverting the narrative of the “given” and proposing to get into a process of dismantling several inhibitions. Revisiting history is a choice to reflect upon the artist’s perceptions in non-celebrative terms. The past and present is constant reminders of ideas of contradictions that have been part of lives, including the life of works of art. For many, it is a constant engagement to kill ‘protected ignorance’.
The exhibition is divided into five sections:- A) Historical trajectory; 😎 Caste, conflict, and non-sublime; C) The question of body and personas; D) Constitution, preamble, democracy; E) State, Nationalism, Citizenship
