Slide 1 :
Arun Kumar HG
A Bird from the Lost Forest
Repurposed Wood, Glue

In a humancentric world, landscapes are reorganized for extraction, speed and permanence. Forests become timber, soil becomes property, and habitat becomes commodity. Since 1970, global wildlife populations have declined by nearly 69%, largely due to habitat destruction driven by human expansion.

Slide 2 :
Siddhartha Das
Model of Lingaraj Temple
Teak wood

In Odisha, the art of woodcarving is rooted in the ancient sculptural traditions that once shaped its great temple architecture. This architectural model of the 11th-Cent. Lingaraj Temple, oldest among Odisha’s iconic triad, alongside Puri’s Jagannath and Konark’s Sun Temple, emerges from meticulous research, site immersion, and precise renderings developed by Siddhartha Das.

Slide 4 & 5 :
Babar Afzal
Beat & Womb of Creation
Textile (Pashmina), Wooden Loom Frame

In Womb of Creation, Babar Afzal transforms the hair of the Himalayan Pashmina goat into a meditation on origin and emergence. At the center, a deep dark void suggests not emptiness, but gestation, a primordial space where life gathers before form. Encircling it, molten reds and embers surge outward in a circular motion, evoking both embryo and eclipse, seed and supernova.

Slide 10 :
Neerajj Mittra
The Horse Affair
Wood (Teak)

The Horse Affair springs from reclaimed wood’s whisper, where birds perch playfully upon the majestic horse, symbols of freedom alighting on grounded power.

Slide 11 :
Neerajj Mittra
Sojourn
Wood (Mahogany)

Sojourn emerges from my intuitive dialogue with reclaimed wood, where a noble horse — symbol o untamed spirit — peers from the weathered suitcase of life’s travels.

Slide 12 :
Neerajj Mittra
The Prodigal Son
Wood (Teak)

Prodigal Son rises from reclaimed wood’s raw memory, where a spirited horse — prodigal archetype of rebellion and return — leaps boldly from the duffel’s embrace.
