Finalmente è arrivato nelle sale cinematografiche il film di Scott Copper Springsteen. Liberami dal nulla che racconta il periodo agli inizi degli anni Ottanta, durante il quale il cantautore statunitense (interpretato magistralmente da Jeremy Allen White) scrive il suo capolavoro più sorprendente e asciutto: Nebraska.
Dopo la pubblicazione dell’album The River e del trionfale The River Tour, un passo prima di Born in the USA, che lo porterà al successo planetario, Springsteen sente l'urgenza di scrivere una serie di canzoni intimistiche e scarne. Decide di affittare una casa isolata a Colts Neck, New Jersey, dove si rinchiude per comporre e registrare senza la E Street Band tutti i brani che confluiranno in Nebraska.
Nel 1982, Springsteen invita in quella casa l'amico fotografo Frank Stefanko, già autore delle copertine di Darkness on the Edge of Town e The River, per realizzare delle foto per il nuovo disco. Bruce scarterà in seguito l'idea che un suo ritratto campeggi sulla copertina dell'album, optando per un diverso concept, ma quel nuovo incontro con Frank ci ha lasciato foto stupende, tra le più amate dai fan di Springsteen, recuperate da Bruce nella recente riedizione Nebraska '82 e confluite nel libro in edizione limitata Bruce Springsteen. Scott Copper’s film Springsteen. Deliver Me From Nowhere has finally hit the screens. The film tells the story of the time, in the early 1980s,when the American singer-songwriter (masterfully played by Jeremy Allen White) wrote his most surprising and stark masterpiece: Nebraska.
After releasing The River followed by a triumphant The River Tour, and before the global success of Born in the USA, Springsteen felt the urge to write a series of intimate and spare songs. He chose to rent a secluded house in Colts Neck, New Jersey, where he would write and record in isolation, without the E Street Band, all the songs that would eventually make it on Nebraska.
In 1982 Springsteen invited to the house his photographer friend Frank Stefanko, who had previously shot the covers for Darkness on the Edge of Town and The River, to take photos for the new album. Bruce ultimately ruled out the idea of a portrait on the album cover opting for a different concept. However that fateful shoot produced a series of stunning and revealing images among the most beloved by Springsteen's fans, some of which are featured in Bruce's recente release Nebraska '82, but all included in the limited edition book Bruce Springsteen.
