roz, T. Saraceno, B. Sarcevic, S. Silva, G. Starr, C. Viel, L. Outside the gallery, pinksummer made happen among the others, Vanessa Beecroft!s performance VB 48, held at Palazzo Ducale (Genova) in 2001 on the occasion of G8 meeting and Pink Rabbit made up in Artesina (CN) by Gelitin in 2004. Together with the local Municipality, a sound performance by Carsten Nicolai and a lecture programme (Ceal Floyer, Georgina Starr, Carsten Nicolai) were organized in Genova. For the 53th Venice Biennale, the gallery produced together with Ivonne Lambert (Paris), the work presented there by Koo Jeong-A and supported the realization of Tomas Saraceno!s installation by finding two Italian sponsors. Pinksummer exhibitions invitation cards are artist projects themselves. Artists are asked to choose for the card an image, from history of art or from any other source, that in their opinion best represents the work they present at pinksummer. Pinksummer produces editions, conceived exclusively for the gallery in the same format and limited number, that are available at starting price of 50,00 Euro. Recently, pinksummer promoted a petition to let the political local institution open a call for a professional curator in charge for the programme of the civic contemporary art Museum, that has always been directed by a public employee not specifically knowledgeable about contemporary art.

Pinksummer is very glad to announce that Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo has acquired Bureau of Censorship (1996), by Mark Dion. Our thanks go especially to Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo for including the artwork in the foundation’s incredible collection.

Presented for the first time at GAM Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna Turin, on the occasion of “Campo 6. Il villaggio a spirale”, curated by Francesco Bonami in 1996, Mark Dion's cottage-like structure is signposted with a pair of scissors, the tool of the censor’s trade—yet the sign could also be mistaken as signifying an old tailors shop. Inside are a variety of boxes viewers are invited to browse and discover. The theatrical environment and playful register of signs and signifiers is typical of the artist’s work, which also often focuses on the pleasures and problems of collecting and display.

"I guess I’m a bit skeptical—or it might just be that the idea of there being a harmonious constellation of Nature, where everything goes in cycles, by perfect units... I think we all know by now that’s probably not the case. Things are much more complex than that. What instead may apply to all of our findings is the idea that Nature follows a sort of masterplan designed by God or, in this case, by some kind of force, if that makes sense."

Atlas Borealis
23.04.26 - 15.09.26

"Each drawing contains six circled star constellations. The basis for the overdrawings is the Atlas Borealis by Antonín Bečvář (1950). John Cage also used such atlases as a point of departure for compositional procedures—an impulse that led to this engagement and the decision to overdraw one of these atlases. The atlas thus functions as a generator: a source of chance.
The works revolve around two poles: constellation and randomness. Points in space appear as unordered placements; both position and quantity remain indeterminate. The circles mark selection, not decision—they point to the principle of true, non-calculated chance as a possible structuring force of nature.
The star atlas presents a system of apparent order that, in fact, reflects perspectival chance configurations. Each circle isolates one such random arrangement of points. From 24 drawings with six circles each, 144 constellations emerge—a reservoir for further work. The drawings thus operate as source material.
A parallel can be found in Bečvář’s engagement with clouds: fleeting, unfixable structures that are nevertheless classified. Between point, star, and cloud, a field emerges in which visual and sonic practices intersect—comparable to Carsten Nicolai.
A latent reference is the lottery: numbers as coded chance. With Genua as a historical point of resonance, chance appears both as a natural phenomenon and as a cultural technique."

"As for the parallel that you brought up with the paradox of Schrödinger's cat… I think that's a little bit too strong for me, because I hope neither of my personalities is dead. Just making a little note on this."

“I guess there will always be work, some of it quite detached and some as it always has been. There are works that AI cannot substitute, like the work of the plumber. And even though there is big research in how building processes could be individualized with AI and robotic tools… there is also the slow shift in understanding the limits of technology. Everything just becomes more complex and less enjoyable. There is a big longing for simpler routines, simpler and more communicative ways of working together. I believe that humans will keep work within their reach. But it is true the situation today is worrying and not everybody has the power to decide for themselves. I don´t want to imagine how many people will lose their jobs due to AI. What will they be doing instead?”

02.11.26 - 04.26.26

Plamen Dejanoff's Heritage Project is back in a new version at Credo Bonum Gallery, inviting reflection on the need to learn from the past by tracing paths through the layers of collective cultural experience. As its title suggests, Heritage Project is dedicated to cultural heritage as a supreme value and a shared good—one that calls for responsibility and care.

On occasion of the exhibition and in collaboration with the show’s curator Stephan Stoyanov, Pinksummer organizes a private view with works from the Heritage Project series presented by Pinksummer in 2024 and on view by appointment at Art Agency Ltd, Sofia, from February 10th, 2026 and throughout the entire exhibition.

See you in Sofia!
