🖌️Scipione Vannutelli was one of the most elegant figures in the European art scene during the second half of the nineteenth century.

✨A regular at the Salons and at the Roman exhibitions, he received significant recognition for a refined style reminiscent of Meissonier and Fortuny.

🌳Alongside his official works, he produced fresh, immediate works from life - an original form of Italian “Impressionism”.

🖼️30 works available! Senf us a DM for information and see the Online Exhibition curated by Cinzia Virno for Berardi Galleria d’Arte.

Lê Văn Đê: Capri Through Vietnamese Eyes, 1933

✨Painted during his pivotal Italian sojourn, Square - Capri reveals Lê Văn Đê at the height of his European period.

🖌️With soft geometry and luminous palette, he transforms Capri’s “Piazzetta” into a silent, timeless space where Eastern delicacy meets Italian Novecento clarity.

A student in Paris in 1932, Lê Văn Đê quickly earned acclaim across France and Italy. In 1936 the Vatican commissioned him to curate its Asian arts section.

🖼️His rare oils, like this one, from the 1930s are now cornerstones of Vietnamese modern art.

This museum-quality work was exhibited at Galleria Pesaro in Milan in 1934.

SCIPIONE VANNUTELLI (1883-1894)
A fashionable painter between Rome and Paris

Berardi Galleria d’Arte presents the online exhibition dedicated to Scipione Vannutelli, a leading figure of elegant late 19th-century painting.

✨ A regular presence at the Paris Salons and Rome’s Amatori e Cultori di Belle Arti exhibitions, he captivated audiences with his refined style, worthy of Meissonier and Fortuny.

🖌️ Yet beyond official works, painting from life he was free, fresh, immediate - a kind of Italian “impressionism” that still feels modern today.

The artist’s career has been retraced by , author of the 2004 monograph on Vannutelli.

✨A refined balance between grace and stillness, Dancer (1919) captures a fleeting moment suspended in bronze. The figure’s elegant pose and fluid modeling recall the influence of Frederic Leighton.

First exhibited in Milan in 1919, the sculpture was later presented at the L###IX Esposizione di Belle Arti in Rome (1920), affirming its place within the dialogue between classical tradition and modern sensibility.

A second cast later entered the Busacca Gallery in San Francisco, confirming its international resonance.

🆕Discover our online exhibition “Amleto Cataldi (1882–1930). A Third Path Towards Modernity”, curated by Eric Caldironi.

🎥This short part of the video gives a glimpse into the world of Amleto Cataldi, where the timeless beauty of classical sculpture meets the energy of early 20th-century European art.

From this balance comes his unique “third path” to modernity - made of expressive vitality and refined formal control, always in harmony.

Take a moment to explore it online.
