z2o Sara Zanin Gallery

“…In this sense, the exhibition is also a celebration of a new beginning.
This is apparently confirmed by La cesta mistica [The Mystic Basket] at the center of the second room: a collapsed sphere of which only the lower part remains intact as the upper part has shattered into an archipelago of fragments (Fra/menti fra le dita) [Fragments Between Fingers] that the artist tries to reassemble. The resemblance here is to shard generated by explosion, ambiguous forms straddling the line between bodies and vegetation”.

“His works do not merely inhabit the twilight of an era. They move, instead, toward the precise point at which something falls apart and, in that very moment, begins to reorganize itself. They show no nostalgia for lost origins, nor any temptation to wipe the slate clean. On the contrary, they seem to pose a far more demanding question: what forms can emerge from such remains?”

The exhibition marks the artist’s first engagement with the architecture of the gallery’s new exhibition space developing a unified project that together a new body of works created between 2025 and 2026. Here, matter becomes a site of passage: ceramic and resin intertwine, while new research trajectories emerge through the introduction of glass, already present as a latent tension in the liquidity of his forms.

The floor is a place of both spontaneous movement and deep connection. Paradoxically, however, it’s a fertile circle of solitude; there are moments when you know you’re completely alone with yourself even while being totally immersed in the collective.
Adelisa Selimbasic’s works possess the same power: they are austere, essential, unexpectedly severe and focus exclusively on the human body.

Over the years, Selimbašić has developed a recognizable language based on an essential painting practice, focused on the human body as a field of plastic and emotional inquiry. Her paintings remove any narrative or scenographic elements, presenting the body as an unstable and relational structure.

Thus the exhibition itself takes shape: a group of sculptures and a group of drawings, clearly interrelated, to the point of suggesting an intention to evoke a narrative that encompasses them – the humanoid figures tower in space, bearing proper names and assigned genders, forming a cast of characters seemingly in dialogue – yet at the same time the exhibition withholds the coordinates that might orient such a story. It is up to us, should we feel the need, to imagine the reasons and meanings behind this curious sculptural assembly, whose members in fact each stand on their own; each endowed with peculiarities and details that, rather than functioning as elements of a hypothetical plot, are quite concretely the outcome of a compositional exercise carried out by the artist through trial and error.

We are pleased to announce the participation of Fabrizio Prevedello and Michele Tocca in the group exhibition Vita minore. San Francesco e la santità dell’arte contemporanea, curated by Gianni Garrera and Giuseppe Garrera, at Palazzo Collicola in Spoleto.

Opening Saturday, February 21, from 11:00 am.

The exhibition project offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the figure of Saint Francis, marking the eighth centenary of the Saint’s death, whose life and legacy are deeply connected to the Umbrian territory and the city of Spoleto. The show retraces the radical and seemingly impracticable example of Saint Francis — his adventure and spiritual journey — through luminous fragments that can be traced in contemporary artworks created by historically established artists and by figures from subsequent generations, including Gino De Dominicis, Tomás Saraceno, Elisa Montessori, and Jimmie Durham.

📣z2o Project is pleased to present Surface, friends, fantasy, the first solo exhibition by Luca Parise (Paris, 1991) in Rome, at the gallery space on Via Baccio Pontelli 16, curated by Enrico Camprini.

Opening Friday February 20th, 2026 | 6-9 pm

Luca Parise’s practice unfolds in a multidisciplinary manner, with a specific focus on sculpture and drawing, understood both in their singularity and as a dual tool for investigating the ordinary and its reconfiguration, as well as the relationship between the real and the fantastic.

Opening hours: from Tuesday to Saturday | 12-7 pm

In the exhibition Uno strappo nel cielo di carta — a title inspired by a passage from Luigi Pirandello — Silvia Camporesi presents a new series of colour photographs portraying submerged, mysterious and often forgotten places. Exposed to temporal and natural decay, these sites of the past retain, in their dissipating image, the sense of unease described by Sigmund Freud when defining the uncanny: an expression of both the familiar and the frightening, which disturbs the gaze and leaves the observer in a ‘threshold’ state between the known and the repressed.

Although they sometimes suggest representative types associated with specific pictorial genres, the subjects are mainly selected for their formal and chromatic potential. This is the case, for example, of the figure with raised hands, rendered in dark green and with a beard which, evoking similar Old Testament iconography, is actually used as an element of contrast with the rest of the composition. Or the cloaked figure, a “Camusian” portrait, covered by a heavy coat whose lapel breaks the unity of a livid face, crossed by white veins.
