The Post-Material Archive 02
Elisa Capucci solo exhibition

Inspired by speculative realism and vital materialism, with particular reference to the thought of Donna
Haraway, the artist investigates sculpture as a diffractive instrument capable of reconfiguring relationships
between humans and complex matter. From this perspective, the sculptural work becomes a site of memory, a device for processing grief, and a space of active transformation. Haraway's notion of Communities of
Compost guides Capucci's inquiry into the vitality and agency of organic, urban, and industrial matter,
shifting attention from the formal outcome to the relational process that dissolves the boundaries between
body, space, species, and infrastructures.

We are pleased to present The Post-Material Archive 02, a solo exhibition by Elisa Capucci, realized with the support of the Statens Kunstfond, Copenhagen, and with the studio and workshop space provided by Art Hub Copenhagen within the Thoravej 29 premises.

The Post-Material Archive 02 addresses some of the most urgent issues of the present, investigating the kinship between living beings, the interactions between species and productive apparatuses, and the possible configurations of post-human futures. Capucci's research considers sculpture not as a mere formal or aesthetic outcome, but as an active, epistemic, and pedagogical practice.
The artist uses sculpture as a diffractive apparatus, capable of generating new narratives through the stratification, interference, and metamorphosis of materials.

Elisa Capucci (b. 1998) is an Italian artist currently living and working in Copenhagen.
Her practice operates at the intersection of installation and material experimentation, and is rooted in Neo-Materialist and Post-Humanist frameworks.
She earned her BA and MA in Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, and later completed an exchange MA course in Fine Arts at Chelsea College of Arts (UAL) in London. Her professional path includes working as a studio assistant for Michael Dean (London) and Uffe Isolotto (Copenhagen), as well as founding HIDDEN GARAGE, an independent space for emerging artists and autonomous curation in Bologna, Italy.

Her ongoing research positions sculpture as a site of multi-sensory engagement and ecological literacy. She is particularly interested in how material agency, especially that of neglected or discarded matter, can foster embodied awareness, cognitive flexibility, and ethical responsibility on contemporary socio-economic issues. These ideas also inform her workshop-based approaches, where sculptural making becomes a collaborative process of shared inquiry.

Lumpen VOID
Fabian Herkenhoener solo show
Curated by Maria Abramenko

Through sculptural symbols, disjointed language, and severe visual grammars, Herkenhoener presents a constellation that confronts the observer with what endures beyond collapse. Rooted in conceptual rigor, his process unravels ideological machinery through speculative thought, treating speech not as clarification but as shifting ground navigated through exposure, disruption, and defiance. In this, his work asserts creative labor as a mode of emancipation, an act within a regime fixated on logic, speed, and control. -Text by Maria Abramenko

Lumpen VOID
Fabian Herkenhoener solo show
Curated by Maria Abramenko

"I have invested my whole life in mapping the territories of a vast nothingness. After floating for so long in the dead space I realized that the void is charged with something, meaning." - Fabian Herkenhoener

The title stems from the artist’s invocation of the “LUMPEN” historically referring to those socially discarded by dominant structures, and the “VOID” a dimension of pure negation where selfhood, remembrance, and utterance vanish and recombine. Within this conceptual duality, Herkenhoener operates as a kind of metaphysical interpreter, translating psychic debris into a vocabulary that belongs equally to verse, prophecy,
and a mediumistic register, a liminal channel where visionary insight and lexical collapse intersect. - Text by Maria Abramenko

Lumpen VOID
Fabian Herkenhoener solo show
Curated by Maria Abramenko
Opening exhibition September 10 at 6 pm

LUMPEN VOID is a poetic excavation of absence, liminality, and the inadequacy of symbolic frameworks to capture the real. Herkenhoener’s practice arises from the wreckage of language, where articulation disintegrates, significance unspools, and raw experience defies systematization. At once a descent into interiority and a plunge into depth, the exhibition outlines a cognitive and sensory topography, a space of internal awareness that eludes the polished architecture of contemporary existence. - Text by Maria Abramenko
