Uno spazio di ricerca per sostenere gli artisti emergenti nei diversi linguaggi dell’arte contemporanea. Nel 2016 lo spazio espositivo, inizialmente situato in una delle zone residenziali di Trento, si trasferisce nel quartiere nord della città. L’ampio capannone industriale di circa 300 mq permette agli artisti una maggiore libertà di sperimentare diverse soluzioni installative, insieme a una pro

ject room che ospita progetti site specific. Lo stesso anno Giorgia Lucchi Boccanera apre una seconda sede in via Ventura 6 a Lambrate, nel cuore del quartiere artistico milanese. Dal 2010 l’attività dello spazio espositivo si caratterizza per il dialogo con le diverse culture e realtà dell’Est Europa. Negli ultimi sei anni Boccanera Gallery ha partecipato attivamente a fiere internazionali, promuovendo sia progetti personali che mostre collettive, ampliando lo spettro generazionale degli artisti rappresentati. Collabora con istituzioni pubbliche, fondazioni private e curatori indipendenti nella promozione di artisti e nuovi media.

Giorgia Lucchi Boccanera opens Boccanera Gallery in Trento in 2007. A research space to support emerging artists in the different languages of contemporary art. In 2016 the exhibition space, initially located in one of the residential areas of Trento, moved in the north district of the city. The large industrial warehouse of some 300 m2 grants artists greater freedom to experiment with different installation solutions, together with a project room that hosts site-specific projects. The same year Giorgia Lucchi Boccanera opens a second venue in via Ventura 6 in Lambrate, in the very heart of Milan Art Neighbourhood. Since 2010, the activity of the exhibition space has been characterized by dialogue with the different cultures and realities of Eastern Europe. Over the last six years Boccanera Gallery has actively participated in international fairs, promoting both solo projects and collective exhibitions, broadening the generational spectrum of the artists represented. He collaborates with public institutions, private foundations and independent curators in the promotion of artists and new media.

For those who couldn’t visit the exhibition, on its final day I’m happy to share a last glimpse of the installation in the gallery.

Perhaps it’s intentional that these images arrive only now — as a reminder that artworks conceived for a specific project truly reveal themselves when experienced in space, in dialogue with the exhibition itself.

Beyond fairs and screens, exhibitions continue to live above all inside galleries and museums.

📍 Until May 16, Boccanera Gallery presents Yirui Fang: 白日焰火 – In Daylight, Fireworks Bloom in Milan.

In particular, Fang’s works look to several iconographic themes of the Christian religion, Western classical mythology, and certain forms of the representation of power—such as the Adoration of the Child, the Assumption of the Virgin, the Apotheosis of Hercules, or the glorification of European ruling families—reinterpreting these episodes on a symbolic, chromatic, and luminous level. The halo, for example, as a distinctive element of sanctity, here becomes a source of light that dispels the darkness of time.

In a reinterpretation of mysticism that draws upon Eastern disciplines and Chinese tradition, In Daylight, Fireworks Bloom is inspired by the passion of great Masters of the Italian and Flemish Renaissance and Baroque traditions, such as Titian, Rubens, and Luca Giordano.

Tra curve, memoria e paesaggio. ⛰️🚴

Lungo il percorso di LakeArt, progetto di BIKENERA – Art in Motion, a Levico Terme, zona Camping Village, prende forma “N 46°00.383’ E 011°17.425’ – Menador”.

L’installazione, disegnata da Ivano Troisi e realizzata a km zero da Boccanera Gallery insieme al GOE e alle risorse locali, nasce in dialogo diretto con il territorio.

Il lavoro richiama il profilo della montagna e la storica strada del Menador, collegamento tra Valsugana, Altopiano di Lavarone e Luserna. Una salita iconica del ciclismo, parte dell’immaginario del Giro d’Italia 2022.

Un segno nel paesaggio che intreccia arte contemporanea, movimento e comunità.
Un punto di attraversamento tra sguardo, corpo e territorio.

Between curves, memory and landscape. ⛰️🚴

Along the LakeArt route, a project by BIKENERA – Art in Motion, in Levico Terme, Camping Village area, takes shape “N 46°00.383’ E 011°17.425’ – Menador”.

The installation, designed by Ivano Troisi and realized locally by Boccanera Gallery together with GOE and local resources, emerges in direct dialogue with the territory.

The work recalls the profile of the mountain and the historic Menador road, connecting the Valsugana, the Altopiano di Lavarone and Luserna. An iconic cycling climb, part of the imagery of the 2022 Giro d’Italia.

A sign in the landscape that intertwines contemporary art, movement and community.

“Sette arrese”, 2026

Giulio Boccardi works across photography, performance and Land Art.

“Sette arrese” is a seven-day performance in which the artist remains suspended on the façade of the building, repeating the same gesture each evening: raising a white flag.

An essential action between body, silence and verticality.
A suspended time that turns into ritual.

Each day, at sunset, a new flag.

Is it still possible today to recognize vulnerability as a form of strength?

In anticipation of the upcoming opening of Yirui Fang’s first solo exhibition at Boccanera Gallery in Milan on April 9, we present a preview of a third work.

As in other works by the artist, reinterprets key elements of Western artistic culture, particularly the work of some great Italian and Flemish Masters, through new interpretative keys inspired by Eastern thought.

In particular, Fang’s works look to several iconographic themes of the Christian religion and Western classical mythology.

Moving away from a strictly religious and Christian tradition, Yirui Fang reflects on idols and their spiritual guidance, speaking of a light that illuminates and inspires the world. Yet in a world without gods, where does the light that illuminates us come from?

For Yirui Fang, every life is a light capable of illuminating our present and our world, making it ever brighter and more ardent with passion.

This vision runs through Yirui Fang’s entire painterly research, where each work unfolds as a space of emergence and possibility, suspended between light and appearance.
