VELAN è un centro per l'arte contemporanea, fondato nel 1993 da Vezio Tomasinelli con l'obiettivo di promuovere l'arte contemporanea. Dal 1993 al 2000 la sede era situata nell'ex Lanificio Bona a Carignano, dal 2000 è stato inaugurato lo spazio di via Modena, in una ex fabbrica per la lavorazione del legno a Torino, con la mostra personale di Dennis Adams. Fin dal 1993 Velan è stata anche la vetrina di Versus una rassegna annuale, giunta nel 2011 alla XVII edizione, sulle più recenti e sperimentali forme d'arte visiva. VELAN is a centre for contemporary art, founded by Vezio Tomasinelli in 1993 with the promotion of contemporary art as its objective. From 1993 until 2000 it was located in the building which had been the Bona woollen mill at Carignano, not far from the city. In 2000, new exhibition spaces were opened in via Modena, Turin, where the building for an old woodworks had been converted. The inaugural exhibition was a one-man show by Dennis Adams. All the exhibitions held over the years, whether in the old woollen mill or in the new centre in Turin, reached the most diverse expressions of the latest visual arts research. Since 1993 Velan has been the showcase for Versus, an annual show for the most recent and experimental forms of visual arts. It held its 17th edition in 2011.
