For an artist, the act of creation is nothing less than a confrontation with oneself—listening closely to one’s own voice, attuning to the echoes arising from within, and objectifying and materializing that inner voice.
Furthermore, appreciating art is an act of sensing the artist’s inner voice through works created with diverse techniques and approaches; it is precisely this dialogue between creator and viewer that constitutes the very essence of art appreciation.
In this exhibition, GALLERY ART POINT presents a diverse selection of works by contemporary artists. Through the artists’ inner voices (“VOICE”) that speak deeply to the viewer’s heart, the exhibition offers a perspective on contemporary sensibilities and the current art scene.

“Session III 2026” @ GALLERY ART POINT.bis

Held several times a year (scheduled four times annually), the “Session” exhibition series introduces noteworthy artists selected by our gallery. This exhibition marks the second edition of the series.
In this exhibition, we present a wide variety of expressive styles by artists selected by GALLERY ART POINT, capturing the multidimensional imagery and worldviews spun from each individual’s inner self as a distinctive current within the contemporary art scene. Likening the resonance created by each artist’s work within the white cube to an improvisation—a “session”—we explore the inherent diversity and resonance of art.
We invite you to experience how these artists, working across diverse media, assert their distinct themes and personal styles while harmoniously and beautifully resonating with one another.

Based on the philosophy of animism, Inoue creates paintings centered around the theme of “human life.” Since 2016, while still in graduate school, they have been energetically presenting works through solo and group exhibitions.
Inoue focuses on the “dilemmas” lurking in every corner of daily life—such as the natural versus the artificial, fiction versus reality, and the sublime versus the mundane. Their body of work captures the complex totality of human joys and sorrows, much like Matsuo Basho’s famous haiku: “In the utter silence / psychological seep into the rock / the cicada’s voice.”
In terms of expression, while influenced by Chardin’s genre paintings, the landscape paintings of Sesshu and Tohaku, and the metaphysical paintings of Giorgio de Chirico, Inoue fuses their roots in the natural worldview of Hokkaido with their lived experiences of urban life after moving to Tokyo. Characterized by a style that blends the concrete and the abstract using oil on canvas, Inoue reconstructs landscapes and everyday objects.
In this exhibition, the core approach revolves around a collage-like methodology, the method of depicting different times in the same scene (ijitsu-dozu-ho), and expressions where indoor and outdoor spaces intermingle, reminiscent of the traditional Japanese painting technique “fukinuke-yatai” (blown-off roof).
The exhibition title, “Daily Player,” carries a double meaning: a brief prayer for daily peace of mind and the act of playing a role in society each day. The exhibition was conceived from the resonance between these two words: the one who prays (Prayer) and the one who plays a role.
In the gallery space, the entire environment is structured like an installation, combining 14 oil paintings and 8 objects, centered around small-scale works that encapsulate Inoue’s distinctive worldview.

This selected group exhibition features nine emerging artists, centered around those curated by our gallery from the prizewinning and selected artists of the Idemitsu Art Award 2025.
Breaking free from conventional frameworks, this exhibition introduces artists who are set to unfold new styles and narratives, and who are highly anticipated to shape the future of the Japanese art scene. By showcasing the diverse expressive styles of these nine artists, along with the distinct imagery and worldviews spun from their inner selves, we aim to examine a cross-section of contemporary art.
Each body of work, capturing and sublimating the contemporary zeitgeist through the artist’s unique sensibility, is filled with overwhelming passion and fresh energy. By bringing together nine distinct personalities from different backgrounds to resonate within a single space, we aim to create an inspiring and compelling exhibition that offers a glimpse into the future direction of art.
We hope to utilize this opportunity to widely promote the fresh expressions of these artists—who are currently breathing new life into the art world—and to create a platform that connects their work with a broader audience.

“Abstractions II 2026” @ GALLERY ART POINT.bis

Abstract art emerged in Europe in the early 20th century, with Wassily Kandinsky often credited as its founder around 1910. The movement later flourished in the United States during the 1940s–50s. Art critic Clement Greenberg argued that by stripping away unnecessary elements and reducing painting to its essential form, modernism would reach its purest expression—a view that greatly influenced the art world.
More than half a century later, some now question whether abstraction has reached its limits. In Japan today, figurative works with strong narratives or anime-like styles dominate, while abstract painting has faded from prominence.
This exhibition revisits the meaning and potential of abstraction in our time, exploring what art and painting truly are. Featuring three selected artists who continue to pursue new possibilities in abstract expression, it highlights the diversity and vitality of abstraction today.

AGonoi’s work draws inspiration from the natural world and everyday materials to express a truly unique vision.
Focusing on the inherent softness and versatility of fabric, she has consistently used it as her primary medium. By incorporating cotton batting, wire, or utilizing the elasticity of stitched threads, she breathes life into her creations through three-dimensional depth and dynamic movement. Furthermore, she enriches the expressive quality of her pieces by piercing the fabric, applying vibrant colors, and bonding various unconventional materials.
Her inspiration springs from the strange yet endearing creatures that dwell in the corners of a garden, those lurking in the air, or those resting quietly—or perhaps vividly—beneath the water. From these origins, she continues to expand her creative scope from two-dimensional works to sculpture and large-scale installations.
In this exhibition, the theme centers on creatures that float freely or proliferate through the space—simple in form yet bursting with color. Utilizing the tactile quality of fabric, she aims to transform the environment itself into a single, cohesive work of art. Her work seems to echo a heartfelt wish: “In a space inhabited by these brightly colored beings, I want viewers to freely imagine their own stories, find a sense of healing, and feel a renewed surge of energy.

“ Ishiki Thothrisa 2026 - Beyond the Moment - ”@ GALLERY ART POINT

Ishiki Thothrisa’s work begins with “words.” Because her paintings are created from words that emerge from within, the finished works naturally embody a message, and the paintings and words resonate organically with one another. Through repeated experiences of her mind being untangled during the creative process, painting has become a “medium for connecting with her true self.” An attitude that embraces everything—sorrow and joy, murkiness and radiance—as the colors of life runs through her entire body of work. Her works are based on acrylic paint and employ a unique technique of layering various materials to create a three-dimensional texture and a rich, shimmering palette that glows with the play of light. The canvas, which changes its expression depending on the viewer’s position and the light, contains both stillness and movement simultaneously, constructing a sense of depth and spatiality.

The theme of this exhibition is “The Colors of Our Potential.” We are part of the scenery that colors the world. Amid countless hues, we may sometimes lose sight of our own colors or compare ourselves to others. However, in the moment we stand before the artwork, we quietly resonate with our inherent potential and recall our true radiance. The fleeting “now” woven by the past and the future. This exhibition aims to offer an experience that allows us to rediscover the beauty of that moment.

“Session | 2026” @ GALLERY ART POINT.bis

In the “Session” exhibition, which are held several times a year, artists selected by the gallery will be introduced.
This exhibition is the 1st time in this year. As the purpose of this program to specialize in fine art without setting the theme of being unusual, we aim to show the “fine art” which is formed with so many layers of art movements.
This exhibition focus on selected artists with unique perspectives, approaches, and techniques. Through their variety of expressive styles, pluralistic image and worldview, we could see their own different perspectives as one stream of the contemporary art scene.

We pass through countless landscapes every day. However, when viewed through the filter of an artist, a familiar scene is transformed into a singular, extraordinary vision—one that reflects universal truths or the artist’s own inner world.
In this exhibition, “A Scenery – A Certain Landscape -” we are proud to present a collaboration of veteran artists who have spent many years sincerely pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. Through their masterful brushwork and profound sense of form, the “sceneries” they capture transcend mere realism, speaking to us of tranquil moments and fragments of memory. We hope that as these mature perspectives intersect, you will discover a landscape that resonates with your own heart.
This exhibition showcases a diverse range of expressions—including figurative, abstract, and realistic works—by a selection of mid-career and veteran artists chosen by our gallery. We invite you to explore “A Scenery – A Landscape of the Mind -,” where worlds are reimagined and reconstructed through the unique techniques and distinct styles of each artist.

The materials used on the work itself stand out on Japanese traditional paintings, there is a clarity in the works as if the pigments were like the soft light from the paintings which creates atmosphere to the work of art, and that is the major difference between Japanese paintings and Western traditional oil paintings.
Japanese traditional paintings have been developed in an unique way in Japan, but there is a certain influence of Western oil paintings such as putting a lot of layers of paint or abstract expressionism in contemporary Japanese artworks. There is also a way of making artworks using traditional Japanese painting techniques as well as contemporary ways of working, and this could possibly lead Japanese contemporary art world amongst other movements in the world.
In this exhibition called “Inscape”, we are focusing on Japanese paintings and we have selected artists who seek the aesthetics in the world of Japanese paintings. Each artist visualise their own “Inscape” using rock pigment on the surface of the works. The main concept of this exhibition is to show the impact of Japanese paintings in contemporary art scenes and the directions and possibilities of the Japanese art in the next generations.

When we create a work of art, fragments of memory are unconsciously engraved within it.
The choice of color, the stroke of the brush, the texture of the material – these all resonate with fragments of landscapes and emotions from the past, and they take shape.
This exhibition, “piece – Fragments of Memory”, is a space where countless such fragments come together and are reborn as new expressions. It is precisely because memories are vague and uncertain that they can transform freely and begin to take on new meanings within the work. Rather than confining the past, they reconstruct it and, by interacting with the viewer’s memories, connect to an as yet unseen story.
The act of creating is the act of picking up the fragments of lost time, and works are crystallized fragments of memory. Through this exhibition, we hope to share the experience of fragments resonating with each other and leading to new memories

Stillness and Vitality: Two Perspectives on the Essence of the King of Beasts

For centuries, the tiger has been a subject of both awe and admiration, a symbol of resilient spirit throughout history. In this exhibition, two Chinese-born artists, Lu Zhongping and MAI, delve into the very core of this creature's life force through their unique techniques and sensibilities.

Lu Zhongping uses heavy, layered oil paints to carve the weight of the tiger’s soul onto the canvas. In his acrylic works, he fuses realistic depiction with pop expressions, capturing a surging, contemporary energy and a vibrant sense of life.

In contrast, MAI utilizes the delicate medium of colored pencils to pursue the tiger’s form with staggering density. The meticulous realism, down to each individual strand of fur, confronts the viewer with a silent yet overwhelming power.
Oil, acrylic, and colored pencil—we invite you to experience this interplay of textures and the powerful "heartbeat" of the tiger, as captured through the distinct lenses of these two artists.

“Path 2026” @ GALLERY ART POINT

The title of this exhibition, ”Path”, means locus, track, course, journey, etc.
In the history of art in Japan and around the world, there is a path that art has followed, such as the flow of art, changes in style, and the historical background (relationship with politics, economy, beliefs, customs, society, etc.) that gave birth to artists and works. As you can see, each artist has a history of creating works. For artists, production activities are a path, and the works that are produced in the process of evolving and changing every moment as we face art every day will be the heart of the artist from time to time. It can be said that it is a path that represents. Over the years, the work will become an element of their path.
In this exhibition, we will exhibit various mental expressions created at the passing points of each artist’s life, and trace the path of their mind through the world of works expressed by various approaches and styles. Think about the artistic journey that they have taken through their work, and enjoy a moment of communication with them.
