コロンビア・ボゴタを拠点に活動するアーティスト、サンティアゴ・リアニョ（Santiago Riaño）による期間限定の個展「72ー0 / 霧の向こうへ」が開催となりました。
10月10日（土）17:00〜20:00には、アーティスト本人が在廊するオープニングレセプションを開催します！ぜひお立ち寄りください。
日本で初めての個展となる本展のタイトルは、ボゴタ東部の山あいにある自然保護区「ラ・クンブレラ」に由来しています。都市と山の境にあるこの場所を、アーティストの父は冗談まじりに「72-0」と呼んでいました。
リアニョは「死」を「移行しながらも、なお残り続ける状態」として捉え、目に見えるものと見えないものの境界を探り続けています。本展では、世代を超えて受け継がれてきた写真をもとにした作品を中心に、さまざまな転写技法を使った作品や、その土地で採取した陶片を取り入れた作品を展示しています。
本展は10月15日（木）までの開催となります。*11日（日）と12日（月）は休廊となります。
The opening reception of Bogotá, Colombia-based artist Santiago Riaño’s solo debut in Japan, “Seventy Second and Zero”, kicks off tomorrow, Saturday Oct. 10th from 5 to 8pm!
The exhibition takes its title from La Cumbrera, in the hills east of Bogotá, a place the artist’s father jokingly called, “seventy second and zero”, where the city meets the mountains.
In his work Riaño explores death as a state of transition and permanence, investigating the threshold between the visible and the invisible. The exhibition centers on photographic works passed down through generations, alongside pieces made with various transfer techniques and works incorporating ceramic fragments created from the land itself.
The exhibition will run through Thursday, October 15th. (*The gallery will be closed on Sunday, October 11th and Monday, October 12th.)
