李朝染付辰砂桃形水滴
朝鮮時代19世紀
19世紀に人気を博した桃形水滴のなかでも、染付と辰砂と白磁の3色を使い分けて作られた水滴。長寿や不老を象徴する桃を、立体的に表現しています。枝をそのまま注ぎ口や高台に仕立て、葉脈には陰刻を施すなど、趣向を凝らしたつくり。
白・青・紅にわずかな窯変の緑青色も加わり、眺めるほどに新たな発見のある作です。

Joseon Blue-and-White and Copper-Red Peach-Shaped Water Dropper
Joseon Dynasty, 19th century
One of the popular peach-shaped water droppers of the 19th century, this piece combines three colors—cobalt blue, copper red, and white porcelain. The peach, a symbol of longevity and immortality, is rendered three-dimensionally together with its branch and leaves. The branch itself forms both the spout and foot, while the veins of the leaves are delicately incised. The white, blue, and muted red are joined by touches of greenish-blue kiln variation, revealing new details the longer one looks.
