“
Shaping the Unseen” brings together a rare selection of sketches and studies by four artists, alongside works that emerged from them.
Before a painting takes its final form, there is often a moment when memories, references, fragments of images and indistinct ideas first begin to take shape through the movement of the hand.
For each of these four artists, that process is entirely different. By looking at works made at these early and formative stages, the exhibition offers a glimpse into the paths of thought that lead toward a finished painting — and sometimes somewhere beyond.

本展では、4名の作家による、普段ほとんど公開されることのないスケッチやスタディと、そこから生まれた作品をご紹介します。
完成された作品になる以前、作家の中に蓄積された記憶やイメージ、参照したもの、まだ輪郭を持たない考えが、手を動かすことによって初めて「かたち」になっていく瞬間があります。
そのプロセスは4人それぞれに大きく異なります。本展では、制作の始まりに生まれた作品を通して、一つの思考がどのように絵画へと育っていくのか、その軌跡を辿ります。
