We are currently holding the fourth day of the Yori Midorikawa's solo exhibition.
The gallery has been transformed into a temporary aquarium for the duration of the exhibition.
This is an exhibition designed to be enjoyed as a whole experience.
There will even be moments when the venue becomes a ‘night-time sea’...

-翠- AIアートと写真が紡ぎ出す物語

6月19日より、当ギャラリーでは3回目となる金子素直さんの個展を開催いたします。
「碧」「紅」に続く色シリーズは、今回が最後と聞いております。

金子さんはギャラリーしろむじではすっかりAIアーティストさんと記憶されていることが多いですが、写真を長く撮られている方で、AIと写真を同一空間で魅せる類稀な展示を試みて、たくさんの方から関心を寄せられている方です。

作品の価値は1つの作品にかけた時間ではなく、その作品をつくるのに費やしてきた年月だと思います。
シャッターを切るスピードやAIの画像生成は一瞬でも、思い描いた絵を撮ることや生成することは自由自在ではなく、何度も挑戦したうえでの工夫や学びがあるはずです。
作家が人生で制作に費やしてきた時間に加え、何十万枚から数十点の作品を1つのテーマのもと選択し、展示を作るという濃密な作業時間が、作品のなかに詰まっています。
プリントといえど展示空間に並ぶことで、オフラインのギャラリーにしかない本物の力を感じていただけると思います。

翠川縁個展 縁の海－呼応する深部－

6月2日より、翠川縁 個展「縁の海-呼応する深部-」を開催いたします。

水色とお魚の作品を作り続けられている翠川縁さんのことを知ったとき、水の中をイメージしたギャラリーしろむじと通ずるものを感じました。
お会いしたときは、水色の作品は白い壁に引き立つのでは?とお伺いしたところ、作品だけが浮き立つような、深海のようなしろむじの青い壁に飾ってみたいとおっしゃってくださいました。
壁も自分自身も脇役で、とおっしゃった翠川さんは、鮮やかな青いバッグに全身黒色の出で立ちだったのが印象的でした。

翠川さんの作品は、ひと言で水色といっても、キャンバスにも陶器にも、奥行きのある複雑な色が広がっています。
深い水の中に広がる翠川さんの色の世界を、実感していただきたいと思います。

以下翠川縁さんのお言葉です。

「すべてのものには生命がある」をテーマに、水色を軸とした絵画や陶器のオブジェを制作しています。
日々描き続けているドローイングから生まれる曖昧な形の生き物たちは、言葉になる前の感情や、心の奥に沈んでいた気配から生まれています。
嬉しさ、孤独、痛み、安堵、憧れ――生まれた感情はどれも確かに“生きていたもの”として捉え、その瞬間の温度や痕跡を掬い上げるように描き続けています。
本展「縁の海」は、水色の奥行きと、曖昧な生命の気配から名付けられました。
深さによって色を変える海、漂う珊瑚や名もない生物、揺らぐ境界線、忘れられた建造物のような静かな景色。
鑑賞者それぞれの記憶や感情によって、その風景は異なる姿を見せるかもしれません。
本展では、これまで描き続けてきた水色の生き物たちを通して、心の奥に残り続けていた「瞬間の生命」を感じていただけたら幸いです。

山本宗平個展「無数の詩」

7日間の会期が終了いたしました。
ご高覧いただいた皆様、会期中気にかけていただいた皆様、誠にありがとうございました。
そして会期中は2度静岡から上京し在廊してくださった画家の山本宗平さんに、心より感謝申し上げます。

山本さんの個展は今年で4度目となりました。
山本さんもお客様も、5年目を迎えたしろむじに、初年度からお付き合いいただきありがとうございます。
今年も1枚の絵を眺める方は、映画を観るように、本を読むように、物語を鑑賞されているようでした。
タイトルを見てあれこれと物語を空想したり、自分の状況に置き換えたり、皆様と楽しくお話させていただきました。
今回お求めいただいた作品も、心に留めていただいた作品も、誰かの傍らでこれからも長く物語を語ってくれると思います。
次回もまた楽しみにお待ちください。

ギャラリーは定休日を挟み、6月2日から新しい展示が始まります。
個展の開催は当ギャラリーでは初となります。翠川縁さんの個展「縁の海-呼応する深部-」でお会いしましょう。

The seven-day the Sohei Yamamoto Solo Exhibition has now come to a close.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who visited the exhibition and to all those who showed their support during the exhibition period.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the artist, Sohei Yamamoto, who travelled from Shizuoka to Tokyo twice during the exhibition to be present at the gallery.

This marks his fourth solo exhibition with us.
We would like to thank both the painter and our visitors for their continued support of Shiromuji as we enter our fifth year, having been with us since our very first year.

Once again this year, those viewing the paintings seemed to be savouring the stories within them, much like watching a film or reading a book.
We enjoyed lively conversations with everyone as they imagined various stories based on the titles or related them to their own lives.
Whether you purchased a piece this time or simply took a work to heart, we believe they will continue to tell their stories for a long time to come, right by your side.
We look forward to seeing you again next time.

Following our regular closing day, a new exhibition will begin on 2 June.
This will be the first solo exhibition of the artist that is held at our gallery. We look forward to seeing you at Yori Midorikawa’s solo exhibition, ‘yori no umi – Resonating Depths’.
