JimuSoan is his studio. In October every year JimuSoan is open as part of the Geikoten, a community wide exhibition. This page is for news of this and other exhibitions he is involved in.

アメリカ人墨絵画家。NY州出身。NY州立大学にて油絵を学んだ後、1989年に来日、墨絵と出会う。東京谷中にアトリエを構え、創作活動を続ける中、教鞭も取る。テレビ出演、雑誌へのエッセイ投稿、マスコミからの取材も多数。著書に「下町の外人さん」がある。

My mother was a watercolor painter. She painted outside in the trees. I used to joke with her that I couldn’t paint in the spring as it was too damned green. Springtime she would repeat it back to me – ‘Too damn green.’ and laugh.

The trees today reminded me of her
