ハワイの光の中で咲く、プルメリア。

その優しい香りと美しさは、人と人とのつながりをそっと思い出させてくれます。

Yuji KATO & HAWAIʻI

Yuji KATOにとって、ハワイは特別な場所のひとつ。

2004年にはホノルルで個展を開催し、ハワイ州知事から
日米友好を称えるRecognitionを受けました。

また、作品「Hibiscus in Maui」をハワイ州知事へ寄贈。

2006年には、ホノルル市長より
「Yuji Kato Day」が宣言されました。

For Yuji KATO, Hawaiʻi has always held a special place in his journey.

In 2004, he held a solo exhibition in Honolulu and received
a Certificate of Recognition from the Governor of Hawaiʻi
for the friendship between Japan and the United States.

He also presented his artwork “Hibiscus in Maui" to the Governor.

In 2006, the City of Honolulu proclaimed “Yuji Kato Day.”

The Spirit of ALOHA

ハワイでは、プルメリアはLei （レイ）にも使われます。
Lelは、ただ花をつないだものではありません。

愛、敬意、つながり、そして祝福。

大切な人へ、想いを花に託して贈ります。

In Hawaii, plumerias are often used to make lei.
A lei is more than a garland of flowers.

It can express love, respect, connection, and celebration.

It is a heartfelt gesture, given to someone special.

The Beauty of Harmony

花は、争わない。競わない。
ただ、それぞれの場所で自分らしく咲いています。

Yuji KATOが花を描き続けてきた理由も、そこにあります。

ハワイの「Aloha」と、彼が花から受け取ってきた

"Love, Peace and Harmony"。

そこには、人と人がつながり、互いの美しさを認め合う。

そんな願いがあります。

Learning about Life from Flowers

変化の中にある美しさを
教えてくれる、花。

【 Lotus 】

The flower that teaches us the beauty of transformation.

The Wisdom of Lotus

蓮は、泥の中から生まれ、
水面の上で美しく花を咲かせます。

その姿より、古くから
「純粋さ」「再生」「精神的な成長」
の象徴として大切にされてきました。

また、蓮の葉は水を弾き、
汚れを寄せつけない不思議な性質を持っています。

どんな環境の中でも、
自らの美しさを保つ静かな強さを、
蓮は私たちに教えてくれます。

The lotus is born from the mud,
yet rises above the water to bloom beautifully.

Throughout history,
the lotus has been cherished as a symbol of
purity, renewal, and spiritual growth.

Its leaves have a unique ability to repel water,
remaining clean and untouched by impurities.

The lotus shows us
the quiet strength of preserving our own beauty,
no matter where we come from.

What Flowers Teach Us

美しさは、
完璧な環境から生まれるものではありません。

時には、困難や試練の中でこそ、
自分の内側にある強さを見つけることができます。

私たちを取り巻く環境が、
私たちの価値を決めるのではない。

私たちの中にある光は、
いつも自分自身のものであると

蓮は、教えてくれます。

Beauty is not born from perfect circumstances.

Sometimes, it is through hardship and adversity that we discover the strength within ourselves.

The environment that surrounds us does not define our true value.

The light that shines within us has always belonged to us.

The lotus reminds us of this truth.

A Lesson from the Lotus

蓮は、泥を否定しません。

その泥こそが、
美しく花を咲かせるための
大切な土壌になるからです。

私たちの経験も同じです。

過去の出来事。
迷った時間。
乗り越えてきた瞬間。

そのすべてが、
今の自分を形づくる大切な一部です。

すべての経験には意味があり、
すべての時間が、
私たちを美しく咲かせてくれます。

The lotus does not reject the mud.

The mud becomes the foundation
that allows it to bloom.

Our experiences,
our struggles,
and our moments of uncertainty

all become part of the journey
that shapes who we are.

Every experience has meaning.

Every moment helps us bloom.

Every flower carries a lesson.

花は争わない、競わない。

ただ、自分だけの季節に、
自分らしく咲いています。

蓮が私たちに教えてくれたのは、

自分の歩みを信じること。

自分自身の時を大切にすること。

そして、
ありのままの自分で咲くこと。

花から、人生を学びましょう。

花は自由で争わない。全ての人に愛される。

だからこそ、その花の華を描くのは、自分が"無"で在れるときだけ。

ただそこに咲き、散っていく潔さ。
私たち人間はそんなふうに生きられるだろうか。

なにかに一喜一憂し、人と比べたり羨んだりしてしまう。

どうしてだろう？と考えても、そのほとんどは答えが出ない。

そんな時、花が教えてくれる。

生き方を、その在り方で。

Flowers are free. They do not compete. They are loved by all.

That is why I can paint the true splendor of a flower only when I myself am in a state of Mu—a state of complete emptiness.

Flowers simply bloom where they are, and when their time has come, they fall with quiet dignity.

Can we, as human beings, live with such grace?

We are moved by every joy and every sorrow. We compare ourselves with others, and we long for what they have.

We ask ourselves why, yet more often than not, no answer ever comes.

And it is in those moments that flowers become our silent teachers.

Not through words, but through the way they exist.

They reveal to us what it truly means to live.

明日から、江ノ島でYuji KATO展が始まります。

今回の展示は
新しく出版された書籍の出版記念個展です。

本書に登場する花の作品や様々な写真はもちろん、
花と向き合う中で生まれた
格言やメッセージも厳選して展示しています。

花は、静かに私たちに語りかけています。

その声に耳を澄ますような時間を、
この空間で感じていただけたら嬉しいです。

これまでとは少し違う
新しい世界観の展示になりました。

会場では、今回出版された
新刊書籍の販売も行っています。

江ノ島の海風を感じながら、
花が語りかけてくるメッセージを
ぜひ感じに来てください。

Starting tomorrow, the Yuji KATO Exhibition will open in Enoshima.
