What does this beautiful lintel depict?
This lintel was carved in the Angkorian period in the Baphuon style (11th century) and depicts Krishna defeating demons. The central medallion shows Krishna battling a lion and a demon in the form of an elephant, named Kuvalayapida. On the left side, above the foliage branch, Krishna is shown fighting Arishta, a demon in the form of a savage bull.
