Haseltine Abstract

Haseltine Abstract Just to introduce myself, my birth name was Carla Haseltine, I come from a long line of Haseltine artists who are a very prestigious family.

My Grandfather Herbert Haseltine was an equestrian sculptor in bronze – some of his sculptures are placed in collections by both Queen Elizabeth, Sir Winston Churchill and can also be found in other collections in different countries worldwide. My Great Grandfather William Stanley Haseltine was a famous landscape artist, many of his paintings can be found in museums throughout the USA. During my l

ife in the UK, I was a well-known sculptor, capturing portraits, nudes and animals. I found myself drawn to Sri Lanka 18 years ago after the boxing day tsunami hit. Due to all the devastation, I decided to stay on setting up a charity to aid the tsunami children whose lives had been destroyed. In recent times due to COVID and our lockdowns, I’ve been drawn to start to paint. I find a great sense of freedom with my abstract style of painting; it also allows you to have your own interpretation of the paintings. It’s come so naturally to me and so wonderful to carry forward my family name in the art world. I’d be delighted to answer any questions you have; you can email me at [email protected]
