👋 Meet the Artist | Pep Walls
Pep Herrera, working under the pseudonym Pep Walls, is a freelance mural artist based between Catalonia and Malta. He holds a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and studied for a year at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.
Pep’s murals are characterised by a synthetic, illustrative style, often infused with irony and sarcasm, while responding to the social and cultural contexts of the places where he works. Through urban art, Pep seeks to build connections with local communities and create work rooted in a sense of social responsibility, without compromising on artistic excellence. His practice often becomes a collaborative process, particularly when working with vulnerable groups at risk of social exclusion.
By creating spaces for participation, visibility and self-expression, Pep’s work transforms public spaces into platforms for amplifying voices and opening up opportunities for inclusion.
