The Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Research, extends its heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders from various ministries, institutions, and organisations for their invaluable support and contribution to the success of National Science Week 2026, held at the Côte D’Or National Sports Complex from 01 June to 05 June 2026.
We also sincerely thank all our dedicated staff members, exhibitors, participants, students, educators, and visitors who made this event a remarkable success through their enthusiasm, commitment, and active participation.

A glimpse of launching ceremony National Science Week 2026

🚀 The Launching Ceremony of National Science Week 2026 was held today at the Côte D’Or National Sports Complex under the theme “STEM: Exploring, Innovating and Inspiring”. The Honourable Dr. Kaviraj Sharma SUKON, Minister of Tertiary Education, Science and Research was the Chief Guest.
Organised by the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre in collaboration with the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Research, National Science Week 2026 aims to promote STEM education and careers while highlighting the importance of science and technology in everyday life and national development.
In his address, the Honourable Minister emphasised the crucial role of STEM in shaping the future of Mauritius, fostering innovation, and preparing the younger generation to face future scientific and technological challenges. He also encouraged students and youth to embrace science-oriented careers and develop a spirit of creativity and innovation.
Mr Partish Chumroo, the Chairperson of the RGSC Trust Fund in his speech encouraged the students to study science subjects and see the importance of science in their daily life.
Dr Maulloo, the Director of the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre, highlighted the importance of hands-on STEM learning and public engagement in science. He underlined the RGSC’s commitment to making science accessible, interactive and inspiring for all.
The exhibition, which is open to the public from 02 to 05 June 2026, features interactive exhibits, science demonstrations and participation from various ministries, institutions and organisations showcasing the practical applications of Science and Technology across multiple sectors.

Science Quest 2026 officially comes to a close after days filled with creativity, innovation, discovery, and scientific excellence! 🔬✨
The final day culminated with a memorable Prize Giving Ceremony celebrating the outstanding achievements, dedication, and teamwork of all participants who made this 11th edition a remarkable success.
We were honoured by the inspiring addresses delivered by:
• Dr Aman Kumar Maulloo, Director of the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre
• Mrs. Vanessa Doger de Speville, Group Head of Sustainability, Reputation and Engagement at Mauritius Commercial Bank
• Dr. The Honourable Mahend Gungapersad, P.D.S.M, Minister of Education and Human Resource
Their encouraging words highlighted the importance of nurturing innovation, critical thinking, and scientific curiosity among our youth.
