Sometimes the loudest voice in my life isn’t another person.
It’s the one in my own head.

I call him Ed.

Ed tells me to be smaller.
To wait.
To not show the work yet.
To make sure everything is perfect before anyone sees it.

But painting has taught me something.

There is another voice.
Quieter.
Kinder.
And it keeps saying:

you were not made to disappear.

These new circle paintings are that conversation.
Moments where I chose expression instead of protection.

She didn’t know when the voice started.

It sounded reasonable at first. Helpful even.
It reminded her to be careful, to fit in, to improve, to not be “too much.”

Over time she realized the voice had a personality, so she gave it a name: Ed.

Ed had opinions about her body, her age, her confidence, and her joy. He spoke often, and for years she mistook him for truth.

Then something quieter began to surface.

Not louder.
Not dramatic.
Just steady.

A kinder voice that didn’t compare or criticize.
A voice that remembered she had worth long before she tried to earn it.

This painting is her decision to let Ed move into the background and give the microphone back to her spirit.

And if you’re standing in front of it, maybe it’s an invitation for you too.

What a weekend! 🎨✨

This past weekend has absolutely filled my heart to the brim. I’m still floating from the energy, the laughter, and the incredible connections that flowed through the studio during the Sunshine Coast Art Crawl. 💖

A huge thank-you to the organizers and every single artist who helped make this event such a vibrant celebration of creativity and community. The spirit of this coast—the love of art, nature, and beauty—was alive in every smile, every conversation, every moment.

To my amazing volunteers… you were the heartbeat of the weekend. 💫 Your enthusiasm, warmth, and endless support made everything run so smoothly. From greeting guests to wrapping art, sharing stories, and spreading joy—you made magic happen.

And to all of you who found a painting that spoke to you and brought it home—thank you. Knowing that my work is now a part of your world, in its forever home, fills me with so much joy and gratitude. ✨

I’m walking away from this weekend inspired, grounded, and overflowing with love for this beautiful art community. Until next time, keep filling your days with color, wonder, and beauty. 🌊💗
